Field Information
- Scenario
- The code of the scenario.
- Scheduler Constraint
-
Indicates if the tool has scheduler constraints.
- Active
-
Indicates if the tool is active.
- Tool
- The code of the tool.
- Tool Number
- A unique number assigned to the tool.
- Calendar Code
- The code of the calendar linked to the tool.
- Availability Type
- The code of the Availability Type.
- Infinite Capacity
-
Indicates if the tool with infinite capacity is available from the beginning of the schedule. Consequently, multiple manufacturing order steps can be scheduled for a tool, simultaneously.
- Tool Maintenance
-
Indicates if the tool maintenance is considered to determine tool wear and tear. If yes, the criteria to determine when maintenance is to be scheduled is also specified. Tool maintenance is the readjusting of a tool after utilization for a specific period.
If this field is set to a value other than Not needed, tool maintenance is performed. The Synchronized Scheduling Engine considers the values specified in the and Maximum/Minimum Utilization fields to determine when tool maintenance must be scheduled.
Allowed values
- Not Needed
-
Tool maintenance is not scheduled.
- Only If No Other Tools Available
-
Maintenance is scheduled for the tool if other tools are not available as a replacement, for scheduling. Effectively, the Synchronized Scheduling Engine can schedule the start of work for the tool that requires maintenance. When the tool reaches Maximum or Minimum Utilization, the engine searches for another tool. If other tool is not available as a replacement for this tool that has reached maximum/minimum utilization, maintenance for the tool is scheduled.
- As Needed
-
Maintenance is scheduled for a tool as required, even if other tools are available as a replacement. Tool maintenance is scheduled automatically, whenever required. Effectively, Synchronized Scheduling Engine can schedule the start of work with a tool that may require maintenance. When this tool reaches Maximum/Minimum Utilization, the Synchronized Scheduling Engine schedules tool maintenance. Work on the Production order step is interrupted for that period and is resumed, with the same tool and work team, after the tool maintenance is completed.
- Based On
-
Indicates whether the tool usage is measured based on production duration or on production quantity.
Allowed values
- Duration
-
Tool usage is measured in time. The Utilization field, and the Maximum Utilization and Minimum Utilization fields are expressed as durations. Each time a tool is scheduled for a work team, the duration of the work team is added to the tool's utilization.
- Usage Count
-
Tool usage is measured by the number of times the tool is used. The Utilization field, and the Maximum Utilization and Minimum Utilization fields are expressed as quantities. Each time a tool is scheduled for a work team, the production quantity of the work team is added to the tool's utilization.
- Not Applicable
- Utilization
- The time period a resource is used for the tool. If the Tool Maintenance field is set to a value other than Not Needed, the Scheduling Engine considers this value to determine when a tool is worn out. When the value in this field reaches the value specified in the Maximum/Minimum Utilization fields, tool maintenance is scheduled. This value is set to 0 by the Scheduling Engine after the tool maintenance is completed. You can also manually set this field to 0 to indicate that the maintenance is completed and the tool is available for scheduling.
- Utilization Unit

Allowed values
- Seconds
- Minutes
- Hours
- Days
- Weeks
- Minimum Utilization
-
The minimum period of time a tool must be used before repair or re fitment.
When this value is greater than 0, the engine; after scheduling the work teams for a production order step; schedules maintenance for all tools used by a production step when the tools reach a utilization level between the Minimum and Maximum Utilization value. Therefore, the tool is fully serviced before another production order step is scheduled, and suspension of the order step is not required for tool maintenance.
- Maximum Utilization
-
The maximum period of time a tool can be used before repair or re fitment.
When the Utilization field value for the tool is equal to the value specified in the Maximum Utilization field, the Engine schedules maintenance for the tool. Effectively, production for a particular order step is suspended and the tool is not available until the maintenance is completed, and the Utilization field value is reset to 0 by the Scheduling Engine. You can also reset this value manually.
- Respect Setup
-
...
- Hourly Standard Cost
- The hourly wage for using the resource. If overhead costs are attributed to manpower, it must be included here.
- Currency
- Time Loss
- The resource-specific weight for reducing time loss. This value determines the significance of reducing time loss when a machine is selected by the Engine for scheduling. The Scheduling Engine considers this value in addition to the other weights.
- Setup Weight
- The resource-specific weight for setup time minimization. This value determines the significance of reducing the setup time when a machine is selected by the Engine for scheduling. The Scheduling Engine considers this value in addition to the other weights.
- Gradation Weight
- The resource-specific weight for considering gradation order of setup states in a setup class. This value determines the significance of considering gradation order in a setup class when a machine is selected by the Engine for scheduling. The Scheduling Engine considers this value in addition to the other weights.
