Machines (plsch0131m000)
Use this session to view and maintain machines or machine models.
More than one machine or machine model can be assigned to a qualified team and all machines in the team must have the same production rate.
Field Information
- Scenario
- The code of the scenario linked to the machine.
- Infinite Capacity
-
If this check box is selected, the machine with infinite capacity is available from the commencement of the schedule. Therefore, more than one Production order operations can be scheduled at the same time, for a machine.
- Machine
- The code of the machine or machine model.
- Calendar Code
- The code of the calendar linked to the machine.
- Availability Type
- The code of the availability type.
- Dynamic Buffer
- The buffer time allowed for the machine. This value is determined by considering machine capacity.

- Time Loss
- The resource-specific weight for reducing time loss. This value determines the significance of reducing time loss when a machine is selected by the Engine for scheduling. The Scheduling Engine considers this value in addition to the other weights.
- Setup Weight
- The resource-specific weight for setup time minimization. This value determines the significance of reducing the setup time when a machine is selected by the Engine for scheduling. The Scheduling Engine considers this value in addition to the other weights.
- Gradation Weight
- The resource-specific weight for considering gradation order of setup states in a setup class. This value determines the significance of considering gradation order in a setup class when a machine is selected by the Engine for scheduling. The Scheduling Engine considers this value in addition to the other weights.
- Utilization
-
The time period for which a tool is used before the maintenance is scheduled. If the Tool Maintenance field is set to a value other than Not Needed, the Scheduling Engine considers this value to determine when a tool is worn out. When the value in this field reaches the value specified in the Maximum/Minimum Utilization fields in the Tools (plsch0137m000) session, tool maintenance is scheduled. This value is set to 0 by the Scheduling Engine after the tool maintenance is completed. You can also manually set this field to 0 to indicate that the maintenance is completed and the tool is available for scheduling.
Note: You can also manually set this value to 0 to indicate that maintenance has been completed and the tool is available for use.

- Batching Minimum
- The minimum capacity of a machine to process synchronous batching operations. The Scheduling Engine prioritizes the scheduling of order with the quantity that is equal to or greater than the minimum batching capacity.
- Batching Maximum
-
The maximum capacity of a machine to process synchronous batching operations (e.g. capacity in terms of space, temperature, etc.). The Scheduling Engine prioritizes the scheduling of order with the quantity that ranges between the minimum and maximum batching capacity.
Example: A machine has a maximum capacity of 50. The minimum batching capacity is 40. Production order operations with a quantity between 40 and 50 is scheduled first by the Synchronized Scheduling Engine.
