Inventory Performance (plaps8850m000)

Use this session to compare inventory levels with targets, identify shortages, and assess material constraints. You can use these insights to resolve inventory gaps, optimize stock levels, and improve planning accuracy.

You can use this session to view a summary of inventory variation, minimum inventory, average inventory, and maximum inventory.

Inventory Performance Filters

You can filter the list of items by planner, buyer, site, or plan item. All items linked to the specified planner, buyer, site, or plan item are displayed.

Inventory Performance Options

You can use the Inventory Performance Options (plaps0192m000) session to define the default settings for the time horizon, cause of lateness, and the color legends based on which the inventory performance session is displayed.

Inventory Performance Charts

Use these charts to review inventory performance for the plan item:
  • Causes of Lateness: Use this chart to view supply orders affected by material constraints. Use this chart to view the delayed count, average lateness of the item, and Maximum lateness.
    Note: You can right-click the chart and select a different time period. Allowed values:
    • Day
    • Week
    • Month
    • Year
  • Inventory Analysis: Use this chart to view the number of items that are under target inventory and the items that have excessive inventory.
    Note: You can right-click the chart and select a different time period. Allowed values:
    • Day
    • Week
    • Month
    • Year
  • Daily Coverage: Use this chart to view inventory levels for the items and materials in the plan. This chart displays the size of the inventory with respect to demand.
    • Minimum coverage displays the lowest days of coverage for any item during the selected time horizon.
    • Average coverage displays the total days divided by the number of items.
    • Maximum coverage displays the maximum number of days for any item during the selected time horizon.

  • Inventory Metrics: Use this chart to view the number of periods with inventory below zero and the number of periods below target inventory.

Inventory Performance Grids

You can use these tabs to view the inventory performance of the plan item.
  • Items under Target Inventory: This tab displays the number of items affected during periods when inventory is below the target level. The Items Under Target Inventory tab lists each affected item with the following details:
    • Warehouse: The warehouse where the item is stored.
    • Site: The site associated with the warehouse.
    • Item description: A brief description of the item.
  • Items with Excess Inventory: This tab displays the items that have inventory levels that exceeded the inventory plan policy.
  • Most Important Constraints: This tab displays the critical material constraints that affect inventory status.
