Inventory Overview (plaps8002m000)

Use this session to view a time-phased projected inventory for items. The profile by each plan item and the corresponding exception signals enable you to identify problems with inventory levels on an item-by-item basis. This session displays the list of all single end-products and its components.

Inventory Overview – Items Grid

The left grid displays plan items and the related information, such as default buyers and suppliers, sourcing process, standard cost, supply time, on hand quantity, demand coverage date, and past due release. For each plan item, you can view the linked site, warehouse, and project. For additional columns, select the check box for the required column in the Column Menu. You can view the projected inventory balance and the targeted inventory of a plan item in the by right clicking the item and selecting the MPS View option.

You can right click a plan item and select the MPS View option to access the MPS View session (plaps8005m000), wherein you can view the projected inventory balance and target inventory of the selected plan item.

Inventory Overview – Quantity Grid

The right grid displays item data with its time-phased inventory per each unit as specified in the Inventory Overview Options (plaps0182m000) session. These indicators are displayed to convey inventory related information about the plan items during the specified period:
  • The Negative Inventory indicator is represented by a red square. If the quantities are in a negative value, the cells display a red square.
  • The Under Safety Stock indicator is represented by a yellow triangle (pointing down). If the quantities are below their safety stock, the cells display a yellow triangle. If an inventory plan policy exists for the plan item, the under safety stock validation is done using the inventory plan policy data.
  • The Over Demand Coverage indicator is represented by a blue circle. If the projected inventory covers more demand than the Demand Coverage Threshold, the cells display a blue circle.
  • The Supply Time is represented by a green arrow. For purchased and distributed items, the cell representing the day, week, month, or year display a green arrow pointing a line to indicate the end of the supply time.
  • The Multiple Value indicator is represented by an orange diamond. If there are multiple sourcing processes, buyers, planners, or suppliers for a plan item, the Buyer Default, Planner Default, Supplier Default, Sourcing Process Master, and Sourcing Process Default cells display an orange diamond.

You can use the toggle to enable the inventory values for the plan items. If this toggle is not enabled, only the indicators are displayed.

Inventory Overview – Options

You can use the Inventory Overview Options (plaps0182m000) session to define the default settings for the time horizon, constraint mode, default view, filters, signals, and the demand coverage threshold, based on which the plan items are filtered in the Inventory Overview (plaps8002m000) session.
