Planner Workbench (cprrp8351m000)
The Planner Workbench is displayed in two views:
- Graph: Provides an overview for the utilization of the selected resources. This helps planners quickly assess capacity usage and identify bottlenecks.
- Grid: Displays the related order for the selected resources.
Planner Workbench toolbar
You can set these values in the Planner Workbench (cprrp8351m00) session toolbar to filter resources and the related orders:
- Planning Cluster: The code of the planning cluster. The resources linked to this planning cluster are displayed.
Note:
- You must select a planning cluster to view the data.
- You can select a normal cluster only.
- Site: The code of the site. The available capacity and utilization for this site are displayed. The application considers all production departments linked to this site.
- Production Department: The code of the production department. The resources linked to this department are displayed. You can view the available capacity and utilization for machines, labor, and other resources associated with this department.
Note: This field is displayed only if the Production Department Selection check box is selected on the User Settings window.

The default subcontractor for whom the resources are displayed.
Note:
- You can specify this value only if Planning Cluster and Site are specified.
- The application considers only the subcontractor linked to the selected Planning Cluster and (Production) Site.
- You can select a particular subcontractor or the All Subcontractors option to filter the data. The list of subcontractors is displayed based on the selected Production Department.
- By default, this value is set to None if a Production Department is selected and you cannot modify this value.
- By default, this value is set to All Subcontractors if the Production Department value is set to All Departments or None.
- A Subcontractor can only be selected only if the Resource Type field is set to Machine.
- Critical Only
- If this check box is selected, only the resources with critical capacity are displayed.
- Capacity Type
-
The type of resource for which the capacity is displayed in the workbench. Allowed values:
- Machine
- Labor
- Total Weeks
- The total number of weeks for which a resource is available.
- Displayed Weeks
- The number of weeks for which the data must be displayed on the graph.
- Week Offset
-
The starting point for the week must be displayed on the graph. For example:
- A week offset of 0 starts the chart from the current week.
- A week offset of 2 starts the chart from two weeks ahead.
- Backlog
- If this check box is selected, the backlog column is displayed in the workbench.
Planner Workbench Gantt
The Gantt chart displays these columns:
- Selection Column: Provides for an asymmetrical selection of one or more resources. The related orders for the selected resource are displayed in the grid. You can also view the related site and the backlog associated with the resource.
- Zoom column: You can use the zoom option for a resource to view the detailed information of selected resource. Information is displayed based on the resource type:
- Work center: Displays the code and description of the work center. You can also view the information such as the site, production department, number of available labor resources. This option is displayed only if Capacity Type is set to Labor in the User Settings window.
- Machine Type: Displays the code and description of the machine capacity group. You can also view information such as the site, production department, type of machine and the number of available machines. This option is displayed only if Capacity Type is set to Machine in the User Settings window.
- Work Cell: Displays the code and description of the work cell. You can also view information such as the site and production department. Work Cell is displayed only if the Capacity Type is set to Machine in the User Settings window.
- Reference Operation: Displays the code and description of the reference operation. You can also view the information such as the site, code of the subcontractor, capacity of the machine or labor, for each week. Reference operation is displayed only if the Capacity Type is set to Machine in the User Settings window.
- Backlog Column: The total capacity required for the resources to complete a task before the start of the current week. The value for the backlog is expressed in the number of hours. Backlog hours are calculated only if the start week of the graph is the current week. Else, the column is blank. This column is displayed only if the Backlog check box is selected in the User Settings window.
Planning Workbench Weekly Utilization Bar
The utilization bar provides a proportional summary of usage based on the capacity types for the available capacity within the specified time range. The bar is divided into five segments, each displaying a different type of capacity usage:
- Available: Displays the total capacity available for the week (in hours). This segment considers these values:
- Calendars: The number of working days or hours.
- Machine groups: The number of machines.
- Work centers: The number of FTEs (Full-Time Equivalents).
- Work cells: The number of machines in the work cell. By default, one machine is considered.
- Reference Operations: The values used from the subcontractor list.
Note: This value is considered only if a value in the Calendars field is not specified.
- Released: Displays the resource utilization that is in progress. A resource is considered released only if:
- The status of the Production Order is set to Released, Printed, Active.
- The status of the Production Schedule is set to Released or Active.
- The status of the Work Order is set to Released.
- The status of the PCS (Product Configuration System) activity is set to Active.
- Created: Displays the required capacity that is committed but the work has not yet started. A resource is considered created only if:
