Resetting the multisite concepts
When LN is newly implemented, that is, the new implementation is a first-time implementation and not an upgrade of an earlier version, the multisite concept parameters are set to Active. The multisite concept parameters and the other sessions and options involved in multisite activation are not displayed.
Organizations who require to inactivate the multisite functionality for specific reasons can reset these multisite concepts to Inactive:
- Configurations by Site
- Resources by Site
- Job Shop by Site
- Sites
- Item Type Product
- Standard Cost by Enterprise Unit
- Planning Cluster Mandatory
This applies to organizations who have an LN configuration without the multisite functionality and who want to install a new LN configuration that is to be similar to the existing configuration, using similar setup and processes. Therefore, the multisite concepts of the new configuration must be inactive. The new configuration is to run independently from the existing configuration.
To reset the multisite concepts, complete these steps:
- On the appropriate menu of the Implemented Software Components (tccom0500m000) session, select .
-
In the Personalize Toolbar dialog box, unhide these options:
- Reset Resources by Site
- Reset Job Shop by Site
- Reset Sites
-
Save and close the Personalize Toolbar dialog box.
Consequently, the resetting options are displayed on the appropriate menu of the Implemented Software Components (tccom0500m000) session.
- On the appropriate menu of the Implemented Software Components (tccom0500m000) session, select the resetting options to set the related multisite concepts to Inactive.
The availability of the resetting options, and therefore resetting the multisite concepts, is subject to various conditions. These are discussed in the next sections.
Reset Configurations by Site
The
option is unavailable once you have defined one or more sites.Reset Resources by Site
You can reset this concept from Active to Inactive for new companies, and from In Preparation to Inactive to undo the In Preparation step.
You can reset the Resources by Site concept from In Preparation to Inactive if no data is present for these sessions:
- Subcontractors (tisub0120m000)
- Operation Subcontracting Rates (ticpr1161m000)
- Item Supplying Relationships (cprpd7131m000)
- Resources (cprpd2501m000)
If the Resources by Site concept is Active, the Reset Resources by Site option is available as long as no sites have been defined.
Reset Job Shop by Site
The Reset Job Shop by Site option is unavailable once you have defined or more machine capacity groups, reference operations, Job Shop routings, or Job Shop BOMs.
Reset Sites
The Reset Sites option is unavailable once you have defined one or more sites.
Reset remaining multisite concepts
The remaining multisite concepts, Item Type Product, Standard Cost by Enterprise Unit, and Planning Cluster Mandatory, have a limited impact on the business processes. Resetting these concepts would only be needed in case of data migration and should be avoided in other cases. These concepts can only be inactivated if these conditions are met:
- The data is migrated from an integrated ERP system.
- The Sites concept is set to Inactive.
