System management

System administrators have a wide range of responsibilities, including tasks such as creating user accounts, setting passwords, and monitoring for unauthorized access.

This section outlines the primary functions and objectives of administering LN software. For instance, before you can use LN effectively, you must define users, devices, and other components in Infor Enterprise Server.

A tenant administrator cannot establish security access levels and allocate storage space; this is part of the multitenant infrastructure.

LN’s administration tools are also used for tasks such as creating jobs and managing the development environment. These administration procedures are not tied to any specific LN module; instead, they apply across all modules. Consequently, the data defined during administration is common data and is shared throughout the entire LN software.

Administration of your LN installation

Because LN is a large package that can have many users, an LN system administrator is often required to manage it. In large companies, there may even be multiple system administrators, each with specific responsibilities.

On an installed LN system, the LN system administrator must perform these tasks:

  • System management, which includes administrative tasks.
  • Application administration, which includes administrative tasks in the application.

System management and application management differ by company. Large companies usually have more than one system manager, each with specific responsibilities.
