Object Families (dmsys1512m000)
Use this session to create a new object family or view existing object families. Object families enable you to group various objects. Each family has an owner and a member or several members, based on the type of family.
You can click the corresponding commands on the Specific menu.
- Object Properties for Browser: Starts the Object Properties (dmsys0114m000) session. Use this session to define the object family by the linked object type.
- Family Members: Starts the Family Members (dmsys0113m000) session. Use this session to link a new object as a member to the current selected object family.
- Virtual Family Content: Starts the System Objects Links (dmsys0110m000) session. Use this session to group object families. Virtual family contains only other object families as members and does not contain any object as a member. Only the system administrator can group the object families.
- Browse: Starts the Object Browsing (dmcomobjbrows) session. Use this session to start a browser window to view the properties of the object family and the family's members.
- Browser Options: Starts the Object Browser Details (dmsys0115m000) session. Use this session to specify whether to display only member of the object, display other families, wherein the owner of the current selected family also acts as owner of the other families.

The description of the object family.
- Virtual

The virtual object family. If this check box is selected, the object family is virtual which is used to group various object families.
- System Defined Family

The system-defined object family. If this check box is selected, the family is a system defined family, which you cannot modify.
