Warehouse Templates (whwmd3520m000)

Use this session to view and maintain the data for warehouse template that is used to create warehouses and locations.

Field Information

Warehouse Template
The code of the warehouse template for which the warehouses and locations data must be defined.
Warehouse
Warehouse Type

Indicates the type of warehouse that must be created when creating a warehouse based on the template.

Allowed values

Normal

A warehouse that stores normal inventory.

Service

A warehouse that stores the required inventory for a service area.

Service Customer Owned

A warehouse that stores the required inventory for a service area. All of the inventory stored is customer owned.

Service Reject

A warehouse used by Service that stores defective items received from customers.

Shop Floor

A warehouse that stores intermediate inventory in order to supply work cells, work centers, or line stations. A shop floor warehouse is linked to an individual work cell, one or more work centers, or one or more line stations. For this purpose, the shop floor warehouse is linked to the appropriate value of the Used at field in the Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) session.

Consignment (Not Owned)

A warehouse that stores consigned materials that have been delivered but are not yet company owned.

Consignment (Owned)

A warehouse that stores consigned materials that have been delivered and have either been used or have been acquired by the company for manufacturing a specific order.

Project

A warehouse that only stores materials that belong to a specific project.

Note: By default, this value is set to Normal and Normal is only applicable.
Quarantine Inventory
If this check box is selected, Infor LN enables the quarantine related functionality for the warehouse that is created using the template.
Note: By default, this check box is selected.
Include in Enterprise Planning
If this check box is selected, the contents of the transactions warehouse that is created based on the template can be used for inventory or supply planning.
Note: The transactions related to the warehouse are considered in the Generate Master Planning (cprmp1202m000) session and the Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000) session in Enterprise Planning.

Use Handling Units
If this check box is selected, Infor LN allows you to use the handling units for the warehouse created based on the warehouse template.

Locations
If this check box is selected, the warehouse created using the warehouse template uses locations A warehouse can contain multiple inventory locations.

Locations
Multi-Item Locations
If this check box is selected, you can store items of various types in the locations of the warehouse created based on the warehouse template. For each warehouse, you must indicate the default selection for which different items can be mixed in the locations in the warehouse.

Multi-Lot by Item Locations
If this check box is selected, you can store different lots for one item in one location of the warehouse created based on the warehouse template.

Receiving Location
The default receiving location of the warehouse created using the warehouse template.
Staging Location
The default staging location of the warehouse created using the warehouse template.
Quarantine Location
The default quarantine location of the warehouse created using the warehouse template.
Bulk Location Structure
Bulk Number of Rows
The number of rows in the bulk location of the warehouse that is created based on the warehouse template.
Note: This value must be > 0.
Bulk Numer of Levels
The number of levels in a row of the bulk location in the warehouse that is created based on the warehouse template.
Note: This value must be > 0.
Bulk Number of Bins per Shelf
The number of bins in a shelf (combination of row and level) of the bulk location in the warehouse.
Note: This value must be > 0.
Pick Location Structure
Pick Number of Rows
The number of rows in the pick location of the warehouse that is created based on the warehouse template.
Note: This value must be > 0.
Pick Number of Levels
The number of levels in a row of the pick location in the warehouse that is created based on the warehouse template.
Note: This value must be > 0.
Pick Number of Bins per Shelf
The number of bins in a shelf (combination of row and level) of the pick location in the warehouse.
Note: This value must be > 0.
Default Location Type for Inbound Advice

The type of location to which the received items are advised.

Allowed values

Receiving location

The location in which the received goods are placed while they await the generation of an inbound advice.

Pick location

The inventory location designated for order picking purposes. A pick location is mainly used for the outbound of small quantities and/or containers that can be replenished by bulk locations.

Bulk location

The location used mainly for large inbound quantities and/or containers and to indicate from which pick locations can be replenished.

Staging location

A shipping dock in the warehouse where items are held just before they are placed on any means of transport for shipment.

Inspection location

A type of inventory location exclusively designated to store items that are eligible for inspection upon receipt.

After the items have passed inspection, they are transferred to:

  • A normal location if they are approved.
  • A quarantine location if they are rejected.

Goods in an inspection location are always considered to be on-hold inventory.

Quarantine location

A type of warehouse location in which goods initially rejected during warehousing inspection or production are stored for further examination to determine their disposition.

Note: In locations of type Receiving, stock points are not supported.
Note: By default, this field is set to Bulk.
