Change Outbound Method (whwmd3202m000)

When issuing goods from inventory, LN can advise a location to pick from based on the one of the following outbound priorities:

• FIFO
• LIFO
• By Location

The priority is defined in the Item - Warehousing (whwmd4600m000) session. You can use the current session to change the outbound priority for items or item groups.

The initial outbound priority is changed into the outbound priority entered for all items in the selected ranges with an onhand balance.

If you change the outbound priority from LIFO to FIFO, or vice versa, or from By Location to FIFO or LIFO, the Outbound Method field on the Item - Warehousing (whwmd4600m000) session is updated.

If you change the outbound priority from FIFO or LIFO to By Location, LN carries out the following changes:

• In the Stock Point Inventory (whinr1540m000) session all stock points with an inventory date are cumulated, and a new stock point with a new inventory date is created or an existing stock point is updated.
• In the Item - Inventory Structure (whinr1550m000) session all inventory structures with an inventory date are cumulated, and a new inventory structure with a new inventory date is created.
• In the Item - Lot (whltc1100m000) session all inventory structures with an inventory date are cumulated, and a new inventory structure with a new inventory date is created.
• In the Warehouse - Item - Lot Inventory (whltc1105s000) session the Lot Date field is made empty.
• In the Item - Lot (whltc1100m000) session the Lot Date field is made empty.
• In the Inbound Order Lines (whinh2110m000) session the Inventory Date field is made empty.
• In the Inbound Advice (whinh3125s000) session the Inventory Date field is made empty.
• In the Outbound Advice (whinh4525m000) session the Inventory Date field is made empty.
• In the Inspection Lines (whinh2131m000) session the Inventory Date field is made empty.
• In the Warehousing Orders History (whinh2550m000) session the old consignment usage records with an inventory date are deleted. New consignment records are created with a new sequence number.
• In the Shipment Lines (whinh4131m000) session the Inventory Date field is made empty.
• In the Cycle Counting Order Lines (whinh5101m000) session the Inventory Date field is made empty.
• In the Cycle Counting Data (whinh5140m000) session the Inventory Date field is made empty.

If stock points are blocked, you cannot change the item's outbound priority. In this case, an error report is printed with the blockings by stock point.
