Resource Planning Parameters (tsspc0101m000)

Use this session to view and maintain planning parameters for the resource planning module.

This session contains:

A history list of parameter sets and their effective dates. The most recent parameter sets are at the end of the list.
The current parameter set, at the top of the list (without an effective date). To view historical sets, double-click one of the historical parameter sets. You can use the Print Service Parameters (tsmdm0400m000) session to print and compare the parameter sets.

To view or change the current parameters, double-click the set without an effective date that appears at the top of the list. The Resource Planning Parameters (tsspc0101m000) details session starts.

If you make changes and save the new parameter setting, LN performs the following actions:

Adds the new set at the end of the history list.
Updates the current set (at the top of the list).

Note: By default, the Description field contains the date and time when the previous parameter setting was saved. To avoid confusion, if you change the parameters, change or delete the default Description text.

Field Information

General

Introduction Date

The date and time from which the parameters are valid. The parameters are valid up to the effective date of the most recent parameter setting.

Description

The description of the parameter set. For example, the reason why the previous setting was changed.

Number Group for Group Planning Groups

The default number group for planning groups.

Number Group for Attribute Groups

The default number group for attribute groups.

Series for Group Sets

The default series defined for the group sets.

Note:

This field is applicable only if the Field Service check box and the Depot Repair check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
This field is applicable only if the Group Planning for Service Orders Implemented, Group Planning for Work Orders Implemented or Group Planning for Planned Activities Implemented check boxes are selected.
This field is applicable only if the Number Group for Group Planning Groups check box is selected.

Series for Reference Points

The default series defined for the reference points.

Series for Resources

The default series defined for the resources.

Distance Calculation Method

The method that must be used to calculate the distance between two locations.

Service Orders

Group Planning for Service Orders Implemented

If this check box is selected, the group planning functionality is implemented for service order activities.

Series for Groups

The default series defined for the service order groups.

Planned by Origin

If this check box is selected, all planning related actions, fields on the activity level is disabled.

Note:

This check box is enabled only if the Group Planning for Service Orders Implemented check box is selected.
If this check box is selected, work load levelling is not executed.
By default the value of this field is set to No, to enable the existing planning functionalities.

Workload Leveling Method

The method to level the workload for group planning.

Note:

This field is applicable only if the Field Service check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
This field is applicable only if the Group Planning for Service Orders Implemented check box for the service order is selected.
This field is enabled only if the Planned by Origin check box is cleared on the Service Orders tab.

Allowed values

Scheduling: This leveling method uses the finish time of the groups in a group to divide the activities over two or more groups.
Geographically: This leveling method uses the total activity duration and travel time in a region to divide the activities over two or more groups.

Plan Method

The method to plan the service order activities.

Note:

This field is set to Planning Based on Time if the value for the Workload Leveling Method for the service order is set to Scheduling.
This field is set to Planning Based on Route if the value for the Workload Leveling Method for the service order is set to Geographically.

Respect Earliest Start Time

If this check box is selected, LN considers the earliest start time to plan the service order activity.

Note:

For a service order activity, the planned start time must not be planned after the earliest start time.
This field is enabled only if the Planned by Origin check box is cleared on the Service Orders tab.

Respect Latest Finish Time

If this check box is selected, LN considers the latest finish time to plan the service order activity. The Planned Finish Time cannot be planned after the Latest Finish Time.

LN re-plans the route for the activity.
This field is enabled only if the Planned by Origin check box is cleared on the Service Orders tab.

Respect Material Availability Date

If this check box is selected, LN considers the Material Availability Date to schedule the service orders, using group planning.

Note:

This field is visible only if the Field Service check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
This field is enabled only if the Group Planning for Service Orders Implemented check box is selected on the Service Orders tab.
This field is enabled only if the Planned by Origin check box is cleared on the Service Orders tab.

Propagate Firm Planned Down

If this check box is selected, and the Firm Planned setting is modified at the header level (or set level), the change is applicable to the activity set level (activity level). By default, this check box is selected.

Note: By default, this check box is selected and cannot be modified, if the Planned by Origin check box is selected on the Service Orders tab.

Propagate Frozen Down

If this check box is selected, and the Frozen setting is modified at the header level (or set level), the change is applicable to the activity set level (activity level). By default, this check box is selected.

Automatically Update Group Planning

If this check box is selected, group planning functionality is updated automatically.

Number of Iterations

The number of iterations to be performed by the territory planning engine for the service orders. A maximum of 10 iterations can be performed. The default value is five.

Relative Weight of Travel for Service Orders

The factor that determines the required travel duration of the service activities in a group. The value indicates the significance of the travel time to level the workload. A high factor has a higher impact on the required travel duration.

This field is applicable only if the Field Service check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
This field is applicable only if the Group Planning for Service Orders Implemented check box for the service order is selected.

Minimize Slack

If this check box is selected, the slack periods must be minimized. When workload leveling is implemented, LN minimizes the slack of the activities (for engineers) that are moved from one group to another within a group set.

The step size of the sequence in activity sets for service order activities.

activity status changes to Not Planned after allocation of resources (planning is required before releasing groups)
calendar of activities is updated with the calendar of the allocated resource (processing time required)

If this check box is cleared,:

activity status remains Planned after resource allocation
calendar of activities remains the original customer/installation calendar
performance is improved during allocation resources because updating of activities is not allowed
