Warranty Templates (tsctm0120m000)
Use this session to list and maintain the warranties and warranty terms.
On the appropriate menu, you can choose Warranty Coverage Terms (tsctm1120m500) session.

LN shows the first 16 characters of the warranty description.
Note: The default value can be changed if desired. - Service Office

The code of the Service Office which normally uses this contract template. In the process of determining the best matching contract item price list the service office of the contract template is also taken into account. A match is with the service office of the 'header' (contract or quote).

The name of the service office.
- Internal Sales Representative

The sales representative who manages the warranty and the warranty terms.
- Warranty Type
-
The type of warranty:
- Supplier
- Own
- Non Specific Warranty
- Buy-from Business Partner

The buy-from business partner from which the warranty terms are registered.
Note:- This field is applicable only if the Warranty Type is set to ‘ Supplier.
- This field is mandatory if Warranty Type is set to Supplier.
- Warranty Duration Type
-
The duration type for the warranty.
Allowed values
- Fixed Duration
- The Installation Date or the Delivery Date is defaulted with the system date. The warranty period is calculated based on the start date and the Number of Periods.
- Fixed End Date
- Once the warranty period starts, the end date of the warranty period is fixed, and the warranty cannot be extended.
- Flexible Duration
- The warranty period starts when the predefined start event specified in theEvent Set field is executed. The warranty period is calculated based on the start date and theNumber of Periods.
- Combined Duration
- The warranty period starts when the installation is completed within the specified Pre-Installation period and the predefined start event specified in the Event Set field is executed.
- Combined Duration Type

The warranty duration is triggered by a predefined Start Event and the warranty end date is determined based on the pre-installation and post-installation period.

The warranty is applicable for the post-installation period. The date on which the item is installed is set as the start date of the warranty, only if the installation is done in the pre-installation period. The end date of the warranty is determined based on the start date of the warranty plus the post-installation period.
Example:
Pre-installation period: 3 years
Post-installation period: 1 year
Pre-installation period starts and runs from 1-1-2015 to 31-12-2017. The serialized item is installed on 15-10-2017. The warranty runs from 15-10-2017 to (+ 1 year) 14-10-2018.
- Subtractive
-
Warranty is applicable for the post-installation period. The date on which the item is installed is set as the start date of the warranty, only if the installation is done in the pre-installation period. The start date of the warranty to the date on which the item is installed and the end date is set to the date on which the pre-installation period ends.
Example:
Pre-installation period: 3 years
Post-installation period: 1 year
Pre-installation period starts and runs from 1-1-2015 to 31-12-2017. The serialized item is installed on 15-10-2017. The warranty runs from 15-10-2017 till 31-12-2017. Warranty ends on the pre-installation end-date.

- For the specified Service Office, the Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the Service Offices (tsmdm1100m100) session.
- Number of Periods

The number of periods that determine the warranty duration.
- Period Unit

The unit in which the warranty duration is expressed.
- Post-Installation Number of Periods

The number of periods that determine the warranty duration after the item is installed in the (pre-installation) warranty period.
Note:This field is displayed only if:
- The Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
- For the specified Service Office, the Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the Service Offices (tsmdm1100m100) session.
- The Warranty Duration Type field is set to Combined Duration.
- Post-Installation Period Unit

The unit in which the post installation period is expressed.
Note:This field is displayed only if:
- The Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
- For the specified Service Office, the Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the Service Offices (tsmdm1100m100) session.
- The Warranty Duration Type field is set to Combined Duration.
- Warranty Start Determined By

The process based on which the warranty start date is determined.
Allowed values
- Installation

The installation date of the serialized item is considered. You can select this value only if the Warranty Duration Type field is set to Fixed Duration or Fixed End Date.
- Delivery
-
The delivery date of the serialized item is considered. You can select this value only if the Warranty Duration Type field is set to Fixed Duration or Fixed End Date.
- Defined Events
-
The date on which the start event is triggered, is considered. You can select this value only if the Warranty Duration Type field is set to Fixed End Date, Flexible Duration or Combined Duration.
Note: This field is enabled only if the Warranty Duration Type field is set to a value other than Fixed Duration. - Event Set

The code of the event set. The timer of the warranty is set based on the events defined for this event set.
Note:This field is displayed only if:
- The Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
- For the specified Service Office, the Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the Service Offices (tsmdm1100m100) session.
- The Warranty Duration Type field is set to Combined Duration or Flexible Duration.
This field is enabled only if the Warranty Start Determined By field is set to Defined Events
- Description

The description or name of the code.
- Platform Warranty

If this check box is selected, the components in a physical breakdown structure are covered by the same warranty template that is applied to the top serialized item and you cannot define the warranty terms specific to each component in the structure.
Note:This field is displayed only if:
- The Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
- For the specified Service Office, the Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the Service Offices (tsmdm1100m100) session.
- Update Warranty End Date automatically

If this check box is selected, the end date of the warranty is updated after the serialized item is repaired.
Note:- This field is displayed only if:
- The Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
- For the specified Service Office, the Use Warranty Events check box is selected in the Service Offices (tsmdm1100m100) session.
- This field is enabled only if the Warranty Duration Type field is set to Flexible Duration or Combined Duration.
- This field is displayed only if:
- Apply Coverage when Warranty starts

If this check box is selected, the coverage time specified for the serialized item is set to the Warranty Start Date.
- Currency
- Description

The description of the currency.
- Effective Date

The date and time that the warranty becomes effective.
Note:- If the Engineering Revisions Active check box in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session is selected, this field is disabled and changes to the warranty must be carried out through change management.
- If the above-mentioned check box is cleared and the date in this field is later than the current date, you can maintain this field.
Effective date can not be later than the expiry date.
- Expiry Date

The date and time that the warranty expires.
Note:- If the Engineering Revisions Active check box in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session is selected, this field is disabled and changes to the warranty must be carried out through change management.
- If the above-mentioned check box is cleared and the date in this field is later than the current date, you can maintain this field.
Expiry date can not be earlier than the effective date.
