Using aggregation of budget lines for Project
In Project Requirements Planning, planned PRP orders can be generated from budget control data which is generated from the bottom-up budget. In this two-step process the requirements specified in the budget lines can be aggregated.
You can control the level of aggregation during the process of generating planned PRP orders based on the setting of the
- Combine Planned Requirements on field in the Project (tppdm6600m400) session. The default for this field can be maintained in the Project Planning Parameters (tppss0100s000) session.
- The status of the project must be set to Free
To indicate the level of aggregation, the Combine Planned Requirements on field can be set to these levels:
- Structure Level: LN aggregates the budget lines when generating the control data and planned PRP orders.
- Budget Line Level: The budget lines are not aggregated. LN links each generated planned PRP order to one specific bottom-up budget line.
Generate Control Data
You can use the Generate Control Data (tpptc1230m000) session to generate control data based on the bottom-up budget for all cost types. When control data is generated, the application considers the value the Combine Planned Requirements on field is set to, in the Project (tppdm6600m400) session. The setting of this field impacts the aggregation of all cost types. The aggregation at the budget line level is not applicable for surcharges that may be calculated when control data is generated. Also, only the control data for budget can be aggregated at budget line level, the control data for physical progress follows the aggregation on structure level.
Generate Planned PRP Orders
Planned PRP Purchase Orders are created for the Cost Types Material, Equipment, and Subcontracting, and also for Planned PRP Warehouse Orders (cost type Material) using the Generate Planned PRP Orders (tppss6200m000) session. Planned Equipment Requests are generated for Equipment cost object of the type Internal, only if the Equipment as a Service is implemented.
If the aggregation level is set to Structure Level, PRP orders are created per project, element/activity, cost object and planned delivery date. If the aggregation level is set to Budget Line Level, planning is performed per project, element/activity, and budget line.
Copy Project
For new projects that are created manually, the Combine Planned Requirements on field setting is defaulted from the Planning Parameters (tppss0100s000) session.
When projects are copied from a template or existing project, the Combine Planned Requirements on field setting of the source project is copied to the new project.
