To split off part of an order block
If the execution of the order block takes too much time, you can split the order block into two or more smaller order blocks.
This action gives you more flexibility, that you can utilize in the following ways:
- If you have too much work for a machine, you can move some of the production orders of an order block to another machine.
- If order blocks are too long, you can create smaller order blocks in order to switch setup states more frequently.
Overview
An order block contains a list of production orders. If you split an order block, LN creates a new order block. The original order block retains the first part of the production orders and the new order block gets the second part of the production orders. You must indicate at which production order LN must split the order block.
