Alternative Tool

Alternative tool types are considered as a substitute for tool types that are not available for use. This situation occurs if a tool is being refurbished.

The description of the alternative tool type.

Priority

Priority determines the reference of this tool as an alternative tool type according to its suitability as substitute. Tool types with the lowest value, for example 1, have the highest priority.

You can define two or more alternative tool types for one tool type. If these tool types have the same priority, the tool type that you select first is used for the tool requirements planning.

Reversible

If this check box is selected, there is a reversible relationship between the tool type and its alternative tool type.

If you define tool type A and B as an alternative tool type for tool type A, and you select this check box, LN automatically defines tool type A as an alternative for tool type B.

Note: In your company the new and old lift trucks are used the same way. You define the old lift truck as the tool type and the new lift truck as the reversible alternative tool type, because the new trucks can replace the old truck.

Note: If you delete an alternative reversible tool type, you can also delete the reverse relationship. If you do not want to delete the reverse relationship, set the value of this field to No in the reverse relationship.
