Use this session to list, select, and maintain data referring to tools. LN identifies tools by means of a combination of tool type and tool number.

In the Refurbish At field, you can enter the number of usages after which the tool must be refurbished. The refurbishing point is based on the number of times or the number of hours the tool is used.

In this field you can define the unit in which the refurbishing point of the tool is expressed.
- If the life of the tool is based on the number of times the tool is used, the physical quantity of the unit in this field is Piece.
- If the tool's life is based on number of hours the tool is used, the unit in the physical quantity field is Time.

Note: The unit entered in this field must be present in the unit set, which is defined for this tool type in the Unit Sets (tcmcs0106m000) session. - Date of Last Refurbishing

The date on which the tool was last refurbished. The field is updated when the service order for refurbishing of the tool is completed.

Note: A multipiece tool is defined in the Tool Components (titrp0506m000) session.
You cannot modify this field if the tool is used as either a multipiece tool or as a component in the Tool Components (titrp0506m000) session.
- Tool's Life Based On

A tool's life is a value based on the number of times the tool can be used or the number of hours the tool can perform. You can modify this field if the Tool is not yet entered the Availability Planning (titrp0513m000) session.
- First Usage Date

The date on which the tool was first used.
- Last Usage Date

The date on which the tool was last used. This field is updated when the tool is used.

If this check box is selected, a text is present.
- Status

The status of the tool, which can be New, Available, Blocked, Allocated, or In Refurbishing.
You can only change the status of a tool component from Available to Blocked if the status of the other components linked to the multipiece tool is not one of the following:
- Available
- Allocated
- In Refurbishing
If the usage status of a tool is Requested, Returned, or Unallocated, the status of the tool can be changed from:
- Available to Blocked.
- Available to In Refurbishing.
The tool status cannot be changed to Allocated or In Refurbishing.
Allowed values

When a tool is entered in LN, the tool is assigned the New status.
- Available
-
The status must be Available if the tool is to be allocated to a production order or a service order. A multipiece tool can only be Available if at least one component is assigned to the tool in the Tool Components (titrp0506m000) session. You can only change the status of a multipiece tool to Available if the components have the Allocated status, the In Refurbishing status, or the Available status.
You cannot change the Available status of the tool if the tool has the usage status:
- Requested
- In Use
- Returned
- Blocked

Tools with the Blocked status cannot be planned or issued to a production order or a service order. You can only manually set the status of a tool to Blocked in the Tool Numbers (titrp0102m000) session.
If the tool has the Blocked status, the tool is not considered when:
- Planning new estimated requirements.
- Performing the availability check for tools.
You cannot modify the status of a component of a multipiece from Available to Blocked if a second component with one of the following statuses is assigned to the multipiece tool:
- Available status.
- Allocated status.
- In Refurbishing status.
- Allocated

The Allocated status is assigned to a tool when it is requested by means of the Request and Return Tools (titrp0215m000) session. When the tool is returned by means of the Request and Return Tools (titrp0215m000) session, the status changes to Available.
- In Refurbishing

The In Refurbishing status is assigned to a tool when the tool is requested to be refurbished by means of the Request and Return Tools (titrp0215m000) session. Tools with this status will not be planned for issue to a production order or a service order within the planned period of maintenance.
The tool status changes from In Refurbishing to Available if the tool is returned using the Request and Return Tools (titrp0215m000) session.

The remaining life of the tool, calculated as the tool life minus the total times the tool is used. The remaining life of the is expressed in the tool's life unit.
- Generate Warehouse Order

If this check box is selected, ad adjustment order is created when the selected tool is scrapped.
