Work Center (tirou0601m000)
Use this session to list and maintain work centers. This must be done if the Job Shop by Site parameter is Active in the Concept Activation (tcemm4600m000) session .
Work center data is used for cost estimating and for planning purposes.
This session also contains information from:

- Sub Work Center
-
Note: If the value Job Shop by Site parameter is Active in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session, this option is not available.
A work center that belongs to a higher-level work center in order to review aggregated capacity.
- Subcontracting
-
If an operation must be subcontracted, a subcontracting work center must be defined. You cannot link operation-rate codes for this work-center type. However, you can record planning data by subcontracting work center, irrespective of the selected critical capacity type. If a work center is of the Subcontracting type, you cannot change the work-center type.
- Costing

The work center is a costing work center.
- Buffer
-
An assembly line work station where no operations are carried out, but orders wait pending transfer to the next work station.
- Line Station
-
A work center that is part of an assembly line. A line station is used in the production of final assembly schedule items.
- Work Cell
-
A grouping of one or more work stations in a fixed sequence defined in the Work Cells (tirpt0140m000) session, dedicated to repetitive manufacturing. Work cells are used for manufacturing items based on production models.

The field is not applicable, when the Work Center Type field is set to Line Station or Buffer.
- Actual Calendar
-
The calendar and availability type combination that is used by the work center manufacturing a production order.
Note:- If a work center calendar is specified, the actual calendar equals the work center calendar. If no work center calendar is specified, the next applicable calendar is used such as that of the related production department.
- You can see the level at which the actual calendar is defined in the Origin field.
- Origin
-
The level at which the actual calendar is defined.
- Costing

You can change the work center's enterprise unit in the Departments (tcemm1124m000) session. However, once you have set up the multicompany structure, you can no longer change the enterprise unit.
- Operation Rate Code
-
The operation rate code refers to the rates that are used for the work center and work cell.
Note:- You must define operation codes in the Operation Rate Codes (ticpr0150m000) session.
- This field is enabled only if the Work Center Type field is set to a value other than Subcontracting.Subcontracting.
- The application defaults the field value from the Production Settings by Site (timfc0180m000) session.
- Default Labor Resource
-
The employee number to which hours are posted in People using backflushing.
- Available Labor Resources
-
The number of operators that is available on the work center.
- Miscellaneous
-
- Reporting
-
- Manager
-
The employee responsible or the manager of the department. The specified employee is notified if, in the Print Hours and Expenses (Completeness Check) (bptmm1410m000) session, the Notify Manager check box is selected.
- Report Product
-
Specify how hours are reported:
Allowed values
-
Manual
Reporting is done manually in the Machine Work List (tisfc4600m000) session for machine operations and in the Report Operations Completed (tisfc0130m000) session for other operations. -
Automatic
Reporting is done by the completion of another operation.
-
- Report Labor Hours
-
Specify the method by which the hours are reported:
Allowed values
-
Backflush
This is an automatic calculation based on reported quantities. -
Manual
Reporting is done by an employee in the People module.
-
- Costing
-
- Labor Rate Code
-
The labor rate is used to determine the intercompany price for hours spent on fulfilling an order or project.
- Costing Work Center
-
Note: If the work center is of the Sub Work Center type the costing work center of the sub-work-center's main work center is automatically displayed. However, you can change the costing work center in this field.
- Operation Rate Code of Costing W/C
-
The code linked to the costing work center and used as the costing work center rate.
- Use as Calculation Office
-
If this check box is selected, the selected costing work center functions as the calculation office.
- Capacity
-
- Show in Resource Master Plan
-
Specify the capacity that will be used for the Resource Order Plan (cprrp0530m000) session, the PCS network activities, and to calculate the value of the Aggr. Estim. Cap. [H] field in the Activities (tipcs4101m000) session.
If the work center has no capacity groups, only Labor Capacity is used.
Allowed values
- Labor Capacity
-
Labor capacity is used in Enterprise Planning to express the capacity use of the resource master plan.
- Machine Capacity
-
Machine capacity is used in Enterprise Planning to express the capacity use of the resource master plan.
- Use rough PCS capacity requirement
-
In PCS network planning, the work center's capacity can be consumed by:
- PCS rough capacity, which is defined in the Activities (tipcs4101m000) session
- Capacity required for JSC production orders and planned production orders in Enterprise Planning .
This check box determines how the work center's capacity is consumed:
- If this check box is selected, the work center's available capacity is consumed by the capacity required for the JSC production orders and planned production orders in Enterprise Planning . The rough capacity requirements defined in the Activities (tipcs4101m000) session are not taken into account.
- If this check box is cleared, the PCS rough capacity defined for activities in PCS, and the capacity required for JSC production orders and planned production orders in Enterprise Planning are subtracted from the work center's available capacity. Therefore, double consumption of work center capacity occurs.
- Capacity Group
-
Select the work center capacity group.
Note: The work center capacity group must be defined in the Work Center Capacity Groups (tirou0140m000) session. - Week Capacity [Hours]
-
The weekly capacity of each resource unit in the work center. This value is used to calculate the normal capacity of a work center by week, which is displayed in work center utilization reports.
Note:Only available if the value of the Job Shop by Site parameter is Inactive in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session.
- Basic Day Capacity
-
The daily capacity of each resource unit in the work center. This value is used to calculate the normal capacity of a work center by day, which is displayed in work center utilization reports.
Note:Only available if the value of the Job Shop by Site parameter is Inactive in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session.
- Number of Machines
-
The number of machines that are available for production on the work center.
- Lead Time Defaults
-
- Queue Time
-
The queue time is used in lead time calculation. The queue time is expressed in days or hours. The days or hours must be interpreted as days and hours in the working time calendar that is linked to the work center.
If the Time Unit field is Days, LN rounds the entered values of the lead times to integer values.
- Time Unit
-
The time unit in which Wait Time and Queue Time are expressed. The time unit of the sub-work-center can be the same as the time unit of its main work center.
If the time unit relates to the queue time, Days and Hours must be interpreted as days and hours in the working time calendar that is linked to the work center. If the time unit relates to the wait time, no calendar is used. The availability of time is considered as 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Allowed values
-
Hours
Lead times are expressed in hours and fractional values are allowed. -
Days
Lead times are expressed in days and fractional values will be rounded to integer values.
-
- Wait Time
-
When LN calculates the start times and end times of planned orders based on the routing, LN considers the wait time. The wait time is expressed in days or hours. The days or hours do not relate to a calendar. The availability of time is considered as 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If the Time Unit field is Days, LN rounds the entered values of the lead times to integer values.
The plan buffer created by the wait time enables you to build in a certain tolerance between successive operations, which makes it possible to shift operations in case planning must be adjusted.
Note: This field is not accessible if the Work Center Type field is Costing, Line Station or Buffer. - Move Time
-
If the Time Unit field is Days, LN rounds the entered values of the lead times to integer values.

-
The scheduler plan group the routing is linked to.
- Desired Queue
- Parent Work Center
- The main work center linked to the work center.
- Extra Intrastat Info
- If this check box is selected, the extra intrastat info is defined for the work center.
