Work Centers (tirou0101m100)
Use this session to view all work centers and work cells.
Field Information
- Work Center
- Work Center Type
-
The work center type you want displayed.
Allowed values
- Work Center
-
A regular work center that defines an area, typically bounded by yellow lines, where job shop operations are done and machines are present.
- Sub Work Center
-
Note: If the value Job Shop by Site parameter is Active in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session, this option is not available.
A work center that belongs to a higher-level work center in order to review aggregated capacity.
- Subcontracting
-
If an operation must be subcontracted, a subcontracting work center must be defined. You cannot link operation-rate codes for this work-center type. However, you can record planning data by subcontracting work center, irrespective of the selected critical capacity type. If a work center is of the Subcontracting type, you cannot change the work-center type.
- Costing
-
The work center is a costing work center.
- Buffer
-
An assembly line work station where no operations are carried out, but orders wait pending transfer to the next work station.
- Line Station
-
A work center that is part of an assembly line. A line station is used in the production of final assembly schedule items.
- Work Cell
-
A grouping of one or more work stations in a fixed sequence defined in the Work Cells (tirpt0140m000) session, dedicated to repetitive manufacturing. Work cells are used for manufacturing items based on production models.
- Manager
-
The employee responsible or the manager of the department. The specified employee is notified if, in the Print Hours and Expenses (Completeness Check) (bptmm1410m000) session, the Notify Manager check box is selected.
- Critical in Planning
-
If this check box is selected, this plan item is critical in master planning. This means that in the master-planning process in Enterprise Planning , this item is treated as a critical component.
In order planning, all components are taken into account. In master planning, only critical components are considered.
Note: Master planning uses an item's bill of critical materials (BCM) for production planning. As a rule, the BCM is derived from the BOM, and contains only those components that are designated as critical in master planning. You can generate a BCM for an item in the Generate Bill of Critical Materials (cprpd3220m000) session. - Parent Work Center
-
The main work center linked to the work center.
Note: If the value Job Shop by Site parameter is Active in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session, this field is only used for financial reporting, as a grouping element in the financial mapping scheme integration. Otherwise, it can be used to aggregate capacity. - Production Department
- Shared Type/ Primary Company
-
The type of work center and the related company.
Allowed values
- Primary
- Secondary
- None
-
the work center is not a shared work center.
- Calendar Code
- The code of the calendar to define calendar working days.
- Availability Type
- The availability type used by the corresponding activity.
- Actual Calendar
-
The calendar and availability type combination that is used by the work center manufacturing a production order.
Note:- If a work center calendar is specified, the actual calendar equals the work center calendar. If no work center calendar is specified, the next applicable calendar is used such as that of the related production department.
- You can see the level at which the actual calendar is defined in the Origin field.
- Shop Floor Warehouse
-
You can only enter a value if the Use of Shop Floor Warehouses check box in the Production Order Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session is selected.
The value of the Warehouse Type field in the Warehouses (tcmcs0103s000) session must be set to Shop Floor.
- Report Product
-
Specify how production is reported:
Allowed values
-
Manual
Reporting is done manually in the Machine Work List (tisfc4600m000) session for machine operations and in the Report Operations Completed (tisfc0130m000) session for other operations. -
Automatic
Reporting is done by the completion of another operation.
-
- Report Labor Hours
-
Specify how hours are reported:
Allowed values
-
Backflush
This is an automatic calculation based on reported quantities. -
By Machine Group
Reporting is done by machine in the Report Operations Completed (tisfc0130m000) session.
-
- Default Labor Resource
-
The employee number to which hours are posted in People using backflushing.
- Operation Rate Code
-
The code linked to the work center and used as the work center rate.
Note:You must define operation codes in the Operation Rate Codes (ticpr0150m000) session.
This field is only enabled if:
- The Work Center Type is not Subcontracting.
- Week Capacity [Hours]
- The weekly capacity of each resource unit in the work center. This value is used to calculate the normal capacity of a work center for each week, which is displayed in work center utilization reports.
- Basic Day Capacity by Resource Unit
- The weekly capacity of each resource unit in the work center. This value is used to calculate the normal capacity of a work center for each week, which is displayed in work center utilization reports.
- Number of Machines
- The number of machines that are available for production on the work center.
- Available Labor Resources (FTE)
- The number of machines that are available for production on the work center.
- Show in Resource Master Plan
- Specify the capacity that must be used for the Resource Order Plan (cprrp0530m000) session, the PCS network activities, and to calculate the value of the Aggregated Capacity Requirements field in the Activities (tipcs4101m000) session.
- Time Unit
-
The time unit in which Wait Time and Queue Time are expressed. The time unit of the sub-work-center can be the same as the time unit of its main work center.
If the time unit relates to the queue time, Days and Hours must be interpreted as days and hours in the working time calendar that is linked to the work center. If the time unit relates to the wait time, no calendar is used. The availability of time is considered as 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Allowed values
-
Hours
Lead times are expressed in hours and fractional values are allowed. -
Days
Lead times are expressed in days and fractional values will be rounded to integer values.
-
- Queue Time
-
The queue time is used in lead time calculation. The queue time is expressed in days or hours. The days or hours must be interpreted as days and hours in the working time calendar that is linked to the work center.
If the Time Unit field is Days, LN rounds the entered values of the lead times to integer values.
- Wait Time
-
When LN calculates the start times and end times of planned orders based on the routing, LN considers the wait time. The wait time is expressed in days or hours. The days or hours do not relate to a calendar. The availability of time is considered as 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If the Time Unit field is Days, LN rounds the entered values of the lead times to integer values.
The plan buffer created by the wait time enables you to build in a certain tolerance between successive operations, which makes it possible to shift operations in case planning must be adjusted.
Note: This field is not accessible if the Work Center Type field is Costing, Line Station or Buffer. - Move Time
-
If the Time Unit field is Days, LN rounds the entered values of the lead times to integer values.
- Desired Queue
- Print Instructions
-
If you use a microrouting, you can define instructions for production orders for each operation and for each operation step. If the value of this field is Yes, those instructions are printed.
You can only use Not Applicable as a value if the Work Center Type is Sub Work Center. Consequently, the sub-work-center inherits its main work center's value of the Print Instructions field.
