Process MBC (tiedm3250m000)
Use this session to run a sequence of sessions, to process a selection of MBCs.
Selection range
Enter the range of MBCs that you want to process. They must be Approved by Engineering status. You can simulate the results of running this session for each MBC that you select in the MBC (tiedm3110m000) session.
Processing Stages
Select the check boxes to run the following sessions:
- Process EBOM Changes (tiedm3205m000).
- Generate EBOM Copy Data by MBC (tiedm3235m000).
- Finalize Engineering Data (tiedm3240m000).
To view the result of the Generate EBOM Copy Data by MBC (tiedm3235m000) session, use the EBOM Copy Data (tiedm1120m000) session.
You must specify a copy method for PBOMs, which is used in the Finalize Engineering Data (tiedm3240m000) session.
You can generate EBOM copy data and finalize engineering data only if the new revisions linked to the MBCs have been approved for engineering. Revisions can be approved:
- Manually, in the Engineering Item Revision (tiedm1100m000) session.
- Automatically, in the Process EBOM Changes (tiedm3205m000) session.
Field Information
- MBC Number
-
Select the range of MBCs you want to process.
- MBC Number
-
Select the range of MBCs you want to process.
- Process Engineering BOM Changes
-
If this check box is selected, the Process EBOM Changes (tiedm3205m000) session is started.
- Approve New Revisions by Production
-
If this check box is selected, the status of new revisions is automatically set to Approved by Production after their EBOMs have been generated.
If this check box is cleared, you must approve revisions using the Engineering Item Revision (tiedm1100m000) session.
- Generate EBOM Copy Data
-
If this check box is selected, the Generate EBOM Copy Data by MBC (tiedm3235m000) session is carried out.
- Finalize Engineering Data
-
If this check box is selected, the Finalize Engineering Data (tiedm3240m000) session is carried out.
- Approve New Revisions by Engineering
-
If this check box is selected, new revisions are automatically given the status Approved by Engineering when EBOMs are generated.
If this check box is cleared, new revisions are not approved automatically. You must do this by using the Engineering Item Revision (tiedm1100m000) session.
- Overwrite Existing EBOM Copy Data
-
If this check box is selected, existing copy data of EBOMs is overwritten when the current session runs the Generate EBOM Copy Data by MBC (tiedm3235m000) session.
- Production BOM Update Method
-
Select the method by which you want to copy data from the engineering BOM (EBOM) to the production BOM when the current session runs the Finalize Engineering Data (tiedm3240m000) session.
If the PBOM History check box in the Engineering Data Management Parameters (tiedm0100m000) session is cleared, the production BOM lines are overwritten by the copied data. If that check box is selected, the copied data is written to new sequence numbers.
- All Available Lines
-
All the PBOM lines are replaced by the EBOM lines and by non-EBOM lines. The latter are lines from a standard PBOM that are copied to a project (using the copy method NonProj Item to Proj Item in the EBOM Copy Data (tiedm1120m000) in the session).
- Only Corresponding Pos.
-
Lines in the PBOM with the same position numbers as the EBOM are replaced by the corresponding EBOM lines and non-EBOM lines. The other PBOM lines remain unchanged.
- Corresp. and Linked Pos.
-
The following lines in the PBOM are replaced by EBOM lines and non-EBOM lines:
- Lines in the PBOM that have the same numbers as EBOM lines.
- Lines in the PBOM that have numbers that differ from the EBOM line numbers, in which case the Link with EDM check box in the Bill of Material (tibom1110m000) session must be selected, and the numbers were created by previous finalizing actions on the engineering data.
The other lines from the PBOM remain unchanged. These lines are not engineering-related (for example, packing materials). In this way, you can make a clear distinction in PBOMs between engineering-related components and logistics components which do not relate to engineering.
- Copy Document Links
-
If this check box is selected, all attached documents are also copied during the copy process. For example, if you have an EBOM structure of A-B-C and you perform multilevel finalizing, when you finalize A, the attached documents of B and C are also finalized.
