Engineering Item Revision (tiedm1100m100)
Use this session to modify and define revisions of E-items. You can, for example:
- Enter data for revisions of engineering items.
- Import revision data from a CAD application.
- Change the revision status of an e-item revision.
On the tabs, you can view and maintain the revision's EBOM, and the relationships between an engineering item and standard or customized items.
Field Information
- Engineering Item
-
The E-item for which you want to maintain revisions.
-
- Engineering Item Revision
-
The engineering item's revision for which you are defining a bill of material (BOM).
- MBC
-
The mass BOM change used to control the revision.
- Status
-
The status of the revision.
Allowed values
- In-design
-
The initial status of the revision.
- Frozen
-
You can no longer change the design of the revision.
You can still reset the revision status to In-design.
- Approved by Engineering
-
The design of the revision has passed its first approval step. Typically, the person responsible for the design is permitted to change the status to Approved by Engineering.
You can still reset the revision status to In-design.
Before you can copy a revision to a production item or to a production bill of material, the revision status must be set to Approved by Production.
- Approved by Production
-
The design of the revision has passed its final approval. Typically, the person responsible for production is permitted to change the status to Approved by Production.
The revision can now be copied to a production item or to a production bill of material.
You can no longer change the design or reset the revision status to an earlier status.
- Canceled
-
The revision is no longer used.
- Effective Date
-
The date and time that the revision becomes effective.
You can change this date manually to any future date. If you have multiple revisions that have the In-design status, you can schedule the effective date for all these revisions.
If the revision is finalized, the effective date of the revision for the parent E-item is taken as the effective date for the production BOM lines. So the desired effective date for the PBOM lines must be set here.
- Expiry Date
-
If the revision has the Approved by Production status, the Expiry Date field is empty, and you can set this date manually. When a new revision is created with an effective date before the expiry date of the previous revision the expiry date of the previous revision is set to the effective date of this new revision.
You cannot change the expiry date if:
- The status of the revision is not Approved by Production.
- The revision has been Approved by Production, but the Expiry Date field is filled.
- E-Item Revision Text
-
If this check box is selected, a revision text is present.
-
- Manual Revision Numbering
-
If this check box is selected, you can enter the revision number manually when you create new revisions.
If you change the revision numbering mode in between, for example, from manual to automatic, the next highest number for the current revision series for the e-item is generated.
- Source
-
The source of the revision.
Note:- If the revision is created in EDM, the source is set to Manual.
- If the revision is created externally, by the BillOfMaterial BOD, the source is set to PLM.
Allowed values
- Manual
-
The P-BOM is defined in the Production Bills of Material (timfc3100m000) session.
- Production Bill of Material
-
The P-BOM revision was generated from an existing production bill of material.
- Engineering Bill of Material
-
The P-BOM is generated from an engineering bill of material.
Note: If the P-BOM is generated from an E-BOM, the Source Engineering Item and Source Revision fields are filled. - PLM
-
The P-BOM is generated from data imported from PLM.
- Configurator (PCF)
-
The P-BOM is generated from data imported from the PCF configurator.
- Configurator
-
The P-BOM is generated from data imported from Infor Configurator.
- Job Shop Bill of Material
-
The P-BOM was generated from a job shop bill of material.
- Not Specified
- Creation Date
-
The date on which the revision was created.
- Description
-
The revision's description.
- Item Signal
-
The code of item signal.
During the process of the copying e-item to a standard item, the item signal code can be copied only when the Copy Item Signal Code check box is selected in the Engineering Data Management Parameters (tiedm0100m000) session.
- Engineer
-
The employee who is responsible for supervising the design of the revision.
- Name
-
Displays the value entered in the Name field in the Employees - General (tccom0101m000) session, from which you select the value for the Engineer field.
-
- BOM Quantity
-
BOM quantity
- Unit Set
- Unit
-
Unit of measurement, such as meter, kilogram, or piece.
-
- Material
-
What the e-item revision is made of, for the current revision.
For example, paper, plastic, wood.
- Size
-
How large the e-item revision is, for the current revision.
For example, 200 mm x 1 meter.
- Standard
-
The company, national, or international standard to which the e-item revision conforms (or must conform), for the current revision.
For example, ISO 8601, NEN 3140, BS 1383.
- Weight Unit
-
Unit of measurement for weight, such as a kilogram.
- Weight
-
The weight of the revision, entered in the units that you have defined in the Weight Unit field.
-
- In Process by Change Management
-
If this check box is selected, an approval procedure for the e-item revision has started in Data Management . You must first complete the approval procedure before you can approve the revision for production.
- Effective Change Order
-

- Expiry Change Order
-
The change order that defines the expiry date of the e-item revision.
- Approved by Engineering Date
-
The date when the revision status was changed to Approved by Engineering. From that date, the design of the revision is approved for use in the engineering environment. However, it cannot be copied to a production item or copied to a production bill of material.
Once a revision is Approved by Engineering it cannot be deleted, only canceled and archived.
