Replace Item in Bill of Material (tibom1212m000)

Field Information

Item to be Replaced

The code for the item that must be replaced in the bills of material (BOMs).

Replacement Item

The replacement item code in the bills of material (BOMs).

If no replacement item is entered, the original item is deleted.

Check Date

The date that is used to select the bills of material (BOMs) line that must be changed. A BOM line is only selected if the check date is between a BOM line's effective date and expiry date.

Effective Date

The effective date when new items will be used instead of old items.

The range of manufactured items for which you want to replace one or more bills of material (BOMs) component items.

Retain Original Item

If this check box is selected, LN does not delete the BOM lines of the item to be replaced. LN uses a new BOM sequence number (as a subdivision of the old position number) for the replacement item. This enables you to see which items have been replaced, and provides a history on the BOM lines.

Retain Effective Date

If this check box is selected, you cannot use the Effective Date field anymore. As a result, the bills of material (BOMs) line for which the item is replaced keeps its original effective date.

If this check box is cleared, the date in the Effective Date field is the effective date for the changed BOM line.

Replace EBOM-linked Items also

If this check box is selected, the bills of material (BOM) components with the Link with EDM check box selected on the BOM line are replaced.

If this check box is cleared, EDM linked components are not replaced.
