Stations (tiasl1545m000)
Use this session to to manage line stations and buffers.
Field Information
- Station
-
The ID of the work station.
- Station Type
-
Select the station type.
Allowed values
- Work Center
-
A regular work center that defines an area, typically bounded by yellow lines, where job shop operations are done and machines are present.
- Sub Work Center
-
Note: If the value Job Shop by Site parameter is Active in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session, this option is not available.
A work center that belongs to a higher-level work center in order to review aggregated capacity.
- Subcontracting
-
If an operation must be subcontracted, a subcontracting work center must be defined. You cannot link operation-rate codes for this work-center type. However, you can record planning data by subcontracting work center, irrespective of the selected critical capacity type. If a work center is of the Subcontracting type, you cannot change the work-center type.
- Costing
-
The work center is a costing work center.
- Buffer
-
An assembly line work station where no operations are carried out, but orders wait pending transfer to the next work station.
- Line Station
-
A work center that is part of an assembly line. A line station is used in the production of final assembly schedule items.
- Work Cell
-
A grouping of one or more work stations in a fixed sequence defined in the Work Cells (tirpt0140m000) session, dedicated to repetitive manufacturing. Work cells are used for manufacturing items based on production models.
- Address
- City (Letterhead)
-
The name of the city printed before the date in the department letter headings.
- Site
-
The site ID.
- Enterprise Unit
- Finance Company
-
- Operational Company
-
- Actual Calendar
-
The calendar code and availability type combination that is used by the work center.
Note: Different combinations of calendar codes and availability types can be applicable depending on the period. - Origin
-
The session where the calendar code originates.
- Extra Intrastat Info
-
If this check box is selected, extra Intrastat info is available.
- Manager
-
The employee responsible for the work center.
- Labor Rate Code
-
The labor rate code assigned to the department.
- Buffer Type
-
If the Work Center Type field is Buffer, you can select a buffer type. A buffer type defines in which sequence the components at the buffer leave the station.
Allowed values
- Random Access Buffer
- FIFO Buffer
- Not Applicable
- Number of Random Access Places
-
The number of random access places of a random access buffer from which LN can choose to achieve the desired sequence for the next assembly line segment. The number of random access places determines the number of products that can go directly from the buffer to the assembly line.
Suppose you define 10 random access places for a buffer. This means that during the line sequencing process LN can choose at random out of a total of 10 (different) products in the buffer to achieve the proper assembly order sequence.
The value of this field is used in the Assembly Control module. You can enter a value if the Work Center Type is of the Buffer.
Note:If you want to be able to change the sequence of orders from the previous line segment to the next, you must enter a value that is greater than 1.
If this field has the value 1, there are no places available that can be used to change the sequence of the orders.
In that case, LN cannot sequence the next assembly line segment.
Note: If the buffer type is FIFO Buffer, the value of this field is one. - Optimal Buffer Utilization
-
The maximum number of products that can be stored in the buffer. During the line sequencing process, LN can fill the buffer up to the quantity you specify in this field, which is the maximum amount of units that can be handled by the buffer.
Note: You can only enter a value if the work center is of the type Buffer. - Operation Rate Code
-
The code linked to the work center and used as the work center rate.
You must define operation codes in the Operation Rate Codes (ticpr0150m000) session.
This field is only enabled if:
- The Type of Operation Rates parameter in the Standard Cost Calculation Parameters (ticpr0100m000) session is Work Center Rate or Task Relationship/Work Center Rate.
- The Work Center Type is not Subcontracting.
- Shop Floor Warehouse
-
You can only enter a value in this field if the Use of Shop Floor Warehouses check box in the Production Order Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session is selected.
The value of the Warehouse Type field in the Warehouses (tcmcs0103s000) session must be set to Shop Floor.
- Backflush Employee
-
The employee number to which hours are posted in People by means of backflushing.
