Global Update of Freight Prices via Price Matrices (tdpcg0230m340)

Use this session to update freight prices in freight rate matrices.

To update prices, proceed as follows:

  1. Select a Matrix Definition and Matrix Type to update prices that are linked to freight rate matrices that use the selected Matrix Definition and Matrix Type.
  2. Specify your selection range on the General tab of this session. Specifying ranges will narrow down the selection of freight rate matrices selected in the previous step.
  3. Specify the selection range for matrix attributes. By specifying a range of matrix attributes, you can fine-tune your selection of applicable price matrices: only matrices that have matrix attributes of the specified range are selected. As a result, only the prices of the selected price matrices will be updated. You can specify a range of matrix attributes on the Freight and Line tabs of this session.
  4. Create a report to update the (ranges of) attributes. If you only want to simulate an update report, select the Simulation Only check box.
Note: 
  • Update the price on the General tab of this session. Specify the percentage or the amount by which the prices must be updated.
  • Only matrix attributes are enabled that are defined for the Matrix Definition.

  • You cannot enter matrix definitions without matrix attributes in this session.

Matrix Type

The matrix type, which is Carrier Freight Rate or Client Freight Rate in this session.

Update Price

Use this field to update the price. You can update the price with a percentage or with a value.

  • Select the By Percentage check box if you want to update the price with a percentage. As a result, the Percentage to Change By field is available.
  • Select the By Value check box if you want to update the price with a value. As a result, the Value to Change By field is available.
Value to Change By

The value with which the price is updated.

Note: The price can either be updated with a percentage or with a value.
Currency

Note: If you select a specific currency in the currency range, enter that currency in this field. Otherwise, the home currency is used in this field.
Percentage to Change By

The value with which the price is updated.

Note: The price can either be updated with a percentage or with a value.

New Effective Date

The date and time as from which the updated price must become effective.

New Expiry Date

The date and time as from which the updated price expires.

Fixed Amount

If this check box is selected, fixed amounts are upgraded as specified in the Percentage to Change By field or the Value to Change By field. If the selected Matrix Type is Client Freight Rate, fixed amounts for client freight rates are upgraded. If the selected Matrix Type is Carrier Freight Rate, fixed amounts for carrier freight rates are upgraded.

Minimum Amount

If this check box is selected, minimum amounts are upgraded as specified in the Percentage to Change By field or the Value to Change By field. If the selected Matrix Type is Client Freight Rate, minimum amounts for client freight rates are upgraded. If the selected Matrix Type is Carrier Freight Rate, minimum amounts for carrier freight rates are upgraded.

Amount by Distance

If this check box is selected, amounts by distance are upgraded as specified in the Percentage to Change By field or the Value to Change By field. If the selected Matrix Type is Client Freight Rate, amounts by distance for client freight rates are updated. If the selected Matrix Type is Carrier Freight Rate, amounts by distance for carrier freight rates are updated.

Amount by Weight

If this check box is selected, amounts by weight are upgraded as specified in the Percentage to Change By field or the Value to Change By field. If the selected Matrix Type is Client Freight Rate, amounts by weight for client freight rates are updated. If the selected Matrix Type is Carrier Freight Rate, amounts by weight for carrier freight rates are updated.

Amount by Additional Rate Unit

If this check box is selected, amounts by additional rate units are upgraded as specified in the Percentage to Change By field or the Value to Change By field. If the selected Matrix Type is Client Freight Rate, amounts by additional rate units for client freight rates are upgraded. If the selected Matrix Type is Carrier Freight Rate, amounts by additional rate units for carrier freight rates are upgraded.

Simulation Only

If this check box is selected, a report simulating the update of prices is displayed. The data update is only displayed, not processed.

Print Changes

If this check box is selected, a report can be displayed or printed and the updated or deleted data is processed.
