Item - Requirements (tcuef0108m000)
Use this session to define requirements for a specific end item, sold-to business partner, ship-to country, and/or ship-from warehouse.
You can indicate whether a requirement is a default requirement by selecting the Default check box. You can choose to import default requirements for a specific effectivity unit in the Requirement - Effectivity Units (tcuef0107m000) session, or the Effectivity Unit (tcuef0102m000) session by clicking on the appropriate menu.
This is especially useful if you configure an unit-effective item in one of the following places:
- On a sales order line in the Sales Order Lines (tdsls4101m000) session.
- On a sales quotation line in the Sales Quotation Lines (tdsls1501m000) session.
- On a sales contract line in the Sales Contract Lines (tdsls3501m000) session.
Categories and exclusive indicators
In the Requirements (tcuef0106m000) session, you can define categories and exclusive indicators for requirements. With categories and exclusive indicators you can group requirements: Requirements with identical categories and exclusive indicators belong to the same group. Only one requirement from a group can be applicable to an item with a specific effectivity unit.
It is possible to define default requirements with identical categories and exclusive indicators in this session, and you can also import them to the Requirement - Effectivity Units (tcuef0107m000) session, or the Effectivity Unit (tcuef0102m000) session. However, you cannot save them in those sessions. All requirements that are selected for a specific effectivity unit must have a unique combination of category and exclusive indicator.

The country of the delivery address on the sales order or sales quotation to which the requirements apply.

If this check box is selected, the requirement is a default requirement.
You can choose to import the default requirements for a specific effectivity unit in the Requirement - Effectivity Units (tcuef0107m000) session, or the Effectivity Unit (tcuef0102m000) session by clicking in the appropriate menu.
If you configure an effectivity unit on a sales order line, and the Generate Effectivity Unit during Demand Entry check box in the Unit Effectivity Parameters (tcuef0100s000) session is selected, the requirements that you defined as default requirements in this session are automatically linked to the effectivity unit.
- Category

A code to group requirements. Examples of categories are: CUSTOMER, MARKET, MODEL, SIZE, COLOR, and so on. If you define a code in the Exclusive Indicator field in the Requirements (tcuef0106m000) session in addition to a category, you have a means to determine which requirement can be linked to an effectivity unit.
- Exclusive Indicator

A code to indicate that for a specific effectivity unit, a requirement cannot be combined with another requirement having the same category and exclusive indicator. You can define exclusive indicators and categories in the Requirements (tcuef0106m000) session.
The following is an example of the usage of the category and the exclusive indicator.
Requirement Category Exclusive Indicator HEAVY MODEL A NORMAL MODEL A LIGHT MODEL A W16 MODEL B W32 MODEL B BLUE COLOR A RED COLOR A The table shows that the requirements HEAVY, NORMAL and LIGHT have the same category and exclusive indicator. This means that only one of those requirements can be assigned to a specific effectivity unit. The same goes for the requirements BLUE and RED. Only one of the two requirements can be assigned to a specific effectivity unit.
