Note: This field is only available to insert new records. Use the Convert Use For Storage (tcmcs1202m000) session to change the use-for-storage setting for existing records. To start this session, click on the appropriate menu.Yes- unit allowed in storage
Units that are used as storage units can be used in inventory and all Warehousing processes, but:
During inventory updates, quantities expressed in the storage unit must be exactly expressed in the inventory unit. This is to avoid corrupted inventory data. If the application detects rounding differences between the quantity expressed in the storage unit and the quantity expressed in the inventory unit, the inventory movement is blocked.
Note:Item X, inventory unit pcs. Storage unit kg (kilograms). 1 pcs = 3.333 kg. For both units, the rounding factor is 1.0.
Registration of inventory records in both kilograms and pcs is not always allowed, because quantities expressed in kg cannot always be expressed exactly in pcs. If you perform one receipt of 100 pcs (=333 kg), and later on perform 100 issues of 3 kg each, this would result in an inventory level of 0 pcs and 33 kg. The application blocks such issues because of the resulting data corruption.
No- unit not allowed in storage
Units that are not allowed in storage:
- Can be used in all inbound processes in Warehousing
-
Cannot be used in:
- Inventory
- Outbound processes
- Cycle counting
- Inventory adjustments
The following units are an exception to this rule, these units can be used in all Warehousing processes regardless of the allow-for-storage setting:
- Units defined as inventory units
- Units defined for a packaging level for a fixed package definition in the Package Definition Levels (whwmd4520m000) session.
