Alternative Items (tcibd0505m000)
Use this session to list alternative items that you can define and modify in the Alternative Items (tcibd0105s000) details session.
- When you enter an item on the maintenance sales part line / work order resource line / service order material line, a message is displayed that a replacement for the item exists and whether you want to replace the item with the alternative item. If you do not replace the item, LN continues to display the message about the existence of the replacement item whenever you work with the order line.
- When you select a substitute item for the item to be replaced, you must check the master data such as the reference activities.
- When you use the reference activities, LN copies the material required data to maintenance sales order / work order / service order.

- Item

The item for which the alternative items are defined.
Note: Segmented items consist of a project-code segment and an item-base segment (the item code).Segmented item codes are defined in the Item Code Segmentation (tcibd0500m000) session.
- Alternative Item

The item that you can use as an alternative for the first item.
- Replacement

If this check box is selected, the alternative item replaces the original item. This situation indicates that you must not use the original item anymore.
- Type of Replacement

The item's replacement status.

- Not Applicable

The item does not replace any other item and is not replaced itself.
- Replaced

The item is replaced by another item. You can find the replacing item in the Alternative Items (tcibd0505m000) session.
- Substitute

The item has replaced another item. You can find the replaced item in the Alternative Items (tcibd0505m000) session.
- Replaced Substitute
-
The item has replaced another item, and is replaced by another item itself. You can find the replacing and replaced item in the Alternative Items (tcibd0505m000) session.
