Delete Item Data (tcibd0206m000)

Use this session to delete a range of items or item groups, for example, after your data is archived in an archiving company.

If you delete items, also the following data is deleted for the items:

  • Production BOMs
  • Routings
  • Locations
  • All standard cost and costing details
  • Classification data from the Product Classification module
  • Item-based conversion factors
  • Alternative items
  • Item data for sales, purchase, service, warehousing, ordering, planning, Quality, and Project.
  • Purchase item - business partner relations
  • Pricing data (price books)

In case of a generic item, also the following data is deleted for the item:

  • Features and options
  • Product features by generic item
  • Generic item data
  • Generic BOMs
  • Generic routing
  • Generic price lists
  • Constraints

You can use the Delete items based on BOM Structure check box to determine whether only the items themselves must be deleted, or also the items' BOM structures. You must use the Type of Deletion field to determine whether the structure of standard items or the structure of configured standard items must be deleted.

Note: 
  • If any other item related data for the item exists in LN, you cannot delete the item. For example, if inventory on hand is stored for the item, or the item is used in the master based planning and/or order based planning.
  • You can use this session to delete items and their structures that are configured based on generic items. Use the Delete Customized Product Structure (tipcs2233m000) session to delete customized items with or without PCS project, and their structures.

Delete items based on BOM Structure

If this check box is selected, not only items defined in the selection range are deleted but also their BOM structures. You must use the Type of Deletion field to determine whether the structure of standard items or configured standard items must be deleted.

Type of Deletion

If the Delete items based on BOM Structure check box is selected, you must use this field to determine whether the BOM structure is deleted for standard items or only for configured standard items.

Allowed values

Standard Items/Structure

The BOM structure of standard items is deleted.

Configured Standard Items/Structure

The BOM structure of configured standard items is deleted. That is, the structure of items configured on the basis of a generic item which have been customized. These configured items are not linked to a PCS project.
