Engineering Business Process Workbench

Using the Engineering Business Process (pdwfl8300m000) workbench, you can get a quick insight into the progress of the business process and the associated objects. This workbench is divided into 6 segments.

  • Business process workflow
  • Business process list/card view
  • Statistics of the process steps and thumbnail of PLM items
  • Business process tasks list in sequence
  • Business process object such as Items, CE items, Documents, and BP tasks
  • Messages

Business process workflow

This section displays the workflow based on the business process selection. You can access User Settings from the business process workflow panel. User settings allows you to specify the data based on which the workbench is displayed.

On the User Settings page, you can specify the fields to filter the business processes:

  • Originator - The login ID of the user who initiates the business process.
  • PLM Project - The PLM project for which the business process is created.
  • Workflow Template - The code of the workflow template defined for the business process.
  • Business Process Type - The business process type used for the project.
  • Status - The status of the business process.

Business process list/card view

The list of business processes is displayed in this panel. You can toggle between the list and card view from the Business Process Overview panel header. Select a business process to view the workflow in the Editor on the top left panel. The card view displays the list of business processes by week. The process view is restricted by the selection in the User Settings. You can navigate to the Business Process (pdwfl1600m000) session by selecting a business process from the list.

Statistics of the process steps and thumbnail

This section displays two tabs: statistics and thumbnails.

Statistics of the process steps are displayed on the Statistics tab. This tab displays the approved versus the total steps as progress indicator. The approved steps are displayed in green color bar.

Note: The Total Steps includes only the User step and Group steps.

Thumbnails of the PLM items linked to the business process is displayed on the Thumbnails tab.

Business process task list

In this section, you can view the outstanding tasks for the logged in user, in sequence. You can also navigate to the My Tasks (pdwfl1524m000) session by selecting a task from the list.

You can select a task and perform these actions using the right-click option:

  • Approve
  • Reject
  • Forward Task
  • Take Task
Note: Only users with the appropriate permission can only maintain the tasks in this panel.

Business process objects

In this section you can review the Items, CE items, Documents, and BP Tasks details linked to the business process. You can also navigate to the respective sessions from this panel.

Messages

This section displays the messages such as errors, alerts, and info associated to the business process. You can also view the corresponding date of the messages.
