Modification Management

Modification Management enables you to make multiple modifications in an item assembly in a controlled environment. One or more product structures in an assembly can be changed with a single modification.

The modification process comprises of one or more actions. Each action can define either of the changes in one or more product structures:

• Replace a child item.
• Add a child item.
• Remove a child item.
• Change child item quantity.

Modification can affect one or more parent items for the specified child item. The status of the parent item must be RELEASED. Child items can have any status.

A modification can be performed manually, or as part of a business process workflow. You must check-out the required item to perform the modifications and check-in after the modifications are performed.
