PLM Item (pdpdm1600m000)

Use session to view and maintain the PLM item data. You can also copy the data of an existing item to a new item. The data in the header section is defaulted from thePLM Item Defaults (pdadm5152m000) session.
Note: 
  • If the Item Segmentation in PLM field is set to Active in the Concept Activation (tcemm4600m100) session, the Project item code is also displayed along with the generic item code.
  • The User Defined Attributes tab comprises of custom fields that are included based on the requirement.
  • The xcad fields are customized and optional. The fields can be used to specify file names or information about objects.
  • You can use the File Operations option to access the Document Files (pdpdm1604m100) session.
  • You can use Promote option in the Actions menu to promote the PLM item to next stage.
  • You can use Promote To option in the Actions menu to promote the PLM item to required stage.
  • You can use the Copy Multilevel E-BOM to P-BOM option to copy multilevel E-BOM to P-BOM.

The category to which the item is related.

Item Group

Sets of items grouped on the basis of common features. The item group is used in conjunction with the item type.

Customizable

Indicates if the item is customized.

Note: 

By default, this field is set to Yes.

Customization, which also requires generation of a product structure, is applicable for these items:

  • Generic items, which must always be customized.
  • Product, Purchased, and Manufactured items, only if the Make Customized check box is selected on the customer order. The setting of this check box can be modified on the customer order.
  • Standard items that have anonymous inventory and for which the Make Customized check box is selected on the customer order.
PLM Project

The PLM project for which the item is created. The PLM administrator assigns users to the specific projects based on the authorization.

Security Access Level

The level of security access provided to the user.

Category

The code of the item category.

Category Name

The name of the item category.

Originating Item

Indicates if the item is the basic model in the associated CAD system to which all the other members in the category are related.

Template

The code of the template defined for the item.

Note: The template for which the Preferred check box is selected in the PLM Item Defaults (pdadm5152m000) session, is defaulted.
Activity/Element

The code of the project element / activity linked to the item.

Note: The field is enabled only when the Item Character field is set to WBS (Work breakdown structure) and WP (Work Package).
Business Process

The business process for which the item is required. The application populates this value when the business process is in the progress. When the business process is completed, the value in this field is cleared.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Create CAD File

Indicates if CAD file must be created for the item.

The name of the variant in the CAD family.

Country Of Origin

The country where the item is originally manufactured.

The login ID of the user who creates the item.

Name

The name of the user who creates the item.

Created On

The date on which item is created.

Originating App

The application using which the item is created.

Note: By default, this field is set to PLM.
Previous Revision

The alpha numeric code of the existing revision of the item.

Modification

If user does a mass BOM change (MBC) for a item this field get enabled.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Approval Date

The date on which the item is released.

Effective From

The date from which the effectivity of the item is applicable.

Effective To

The date up to which the item is effective. The application sets the date when a new revision of the item is released.

Derived From

The original item from which this item is copied.

Characteristics
Serialized

If this check box is selected, the item is serialized.

Lot Control

If this check box is selected, the item is lot controlled.

Phantom

If this check box is selected, the item is a phantom item.

Long Lead Item

If this check box is selected, the item is the long lead item.

Service

If this check box is selected, the item is a Service item and is included in the BOM for future maintenance and repairs.

Repairable

If this check box is selected, the item is a Repairable item.

End Item

If this check box is selected, the item is an end item. Only serialized items can be defined as end items. For the serial effectivity , at least one end item must be defined for a project.

Unit Effective

If this check box is selected, the Unit Effectivity series and Unit Sequences are defined for the item.

Interchangeable

If this check box is selected, the units of the item are Interchangeable.

Note: By default, this check box is set to selected.

Signal Code

The signal code associated with the item. This value is defaulted if a signal is linked to the item.

The selection code of item. You can use selection codes to select items by color, diameter, product expiry date, and so on.
