Transport Means Groups by Carrier/LSP (fmfmd0152m000)
Use this session to view and maintain transport means groups for carriers. Transport means groups are defined in the Transport Means Groups (fmfmd0150m000) session.
The available capacity of a carrier is determined by the transport means groups that are added to a carrier. You can select carrier to transport particular goods if the carrier has sufficient loading capacity, speed, and the right transport conditions, at the right time. This input is important for the load building and/or freight order clustering engines.
To each carrier, you can attach one or more transport means groups.
For each transport means group that you attach you can specify the following carrier related data, which is described in the field help of this session:
- Shipment procedure
- Number of means of transport
- Maximum planning percentage
- Default transport means group
Field Information
- Carrier/LSP
-
The carrier whose transport means groups you can maintain.
- Transport Means Group
-
A transport means group for the current carrier. You can choose from transport means groups whose transport category matches the transport category of the current carrier.
- Number of Means of Transport
-
The number of vehicles per transport means group that the carrier has available. If the Check TMG and TMC Availability check box in the Freight Planning Parameters (fmlbd0100m000) session is selected, the load building engine uses this number to check how many means of transport are available for transport; it also takes into account how many means of transport are already used for transportation. The load building engine also uses the calendar of the business partner defined for the carrier of the transport means group to check if the transport means group is available on a particular day.
- Maximum Planning Percentage
-
The maximum planning percentage is the percentage of the available loading capacity that can be utilized for load building. The available loading capacity is the average loading capacity of means of transport that belong to the current transport means group. You can overwrite the default maximum planning percentage, which is defaulted from the Transport Means Groups (fmfmd0150m000) session.
- Default Transport Means Group
-
If this check box is selected, the current transport means group is the default transport means group for the carrier. A carrier cannot have more than one default transport means group, but a carrier can have a default transport means group and a default transport means combination. You can define a default transport means combination in the Transport Means Combinations by Carrier/LSP (fmfmd0144m000) session. For further information, see Using the default transport means group or transport means combination
- Available per Day
-
The total number of means of transport of the specified transport means group defined in Freight * Maximum Planning Percentage.
- Shipment Procedure
-
The shipment procedure for the current transport means group - by carrier combination.
