File Linking (dmdoc4540m002)
Use this session to link new document revisions and files. This session is used for other packages that have integrations with ODM.
This functionality enables you link files to documents easily. This session describes the process to link files to existing documents and new documents to ERP entities.
If you select the Quick Approval option, the document revision is released.
The Link Another File option enables you to link multiple files.
Field Information
- Type

The document type. Click the browse arrow to select a document type from the Document Types (dmdoc2510m000) session.
- Document Type Description
-
The description or name of the code.
- Document
-
The document Identifier.
- Library
-
The identifier of the library to which the document belongs. Click the browse arrow to select a library type from the Libraries (dmsys0540m000) session.
- Library Description
-
The description or name of the code.
- Title
-
The title of the document for easy identification. The title is a free text and the user can enter their own choice of text.
- Quick Approval Process

If this check box is selected, the document is released directly instead of going through the standard approval process.
- Responsible Role
-
The responsible authorization role.
- Description of Responsible Role

The description or name of the code.
- Originator
-
The originator of the document. In this field, you can can specify the name of a person, name of the department, or any internal/external originator.
- Change Committee
-
The committee that is responsible to review the revisions of the document.
- Committee Description
-
The description or name of the code.
- Fixed Reviewers Sequence

If this check box is selected, the document passes through the fixed reviewers sequence.
- Document Revision
-
The document revision identifier that is automatically generated using masks mechanism.
- Status
-
The status of the document revision. The initial status of the document revision must be In Design.
- Area

The area ID of the location where the file must reside. Click the browse arrow to select a work area from the Work Area Assignments (dmdoc5130m000) session.
- Path
-
The location path where the file must be created.
- Version
-
The version of the file. The initial version of the file is 1.
- File Type
-
The type of files. Click the browse arrow to select a file type from the File Types (dmdoc4110m000) session.
- File Extension
-
The extensions associated with the file type.
- File Name
-
Enter the file name or click the browse arrow to select a file.
- Link Another File
-
If this check box is selected, the session links another file. In this way, several files can be linked to the same document revision.
