Assigning Main Files for File Operations (dmdoc4540m001)

Use this session to specify the files to be operated when a file operation is applied to the document revision. This session lists the files attached to a document revision and identifies the main files for each file operation. For each file operation, you must specify the file and select the corresponding check boxes to enable a specific action. The file operating actions are:

  • Edit File
  • View File
  • Print File
  • Redline File
  • Copy Files
  • Send To

Field Information

Library

The library to which the document is attached.

Library

The description or name of the code.

Document

The document to which the files are attached.

Document Title

The description or name of the code.

Type

The type of the document.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Revision

The revision of the document.

Status

The status of the document revision. For example, In-Design, Approved, Released, Rejected, and Withdrawn.

Secondary Status

The secondary status of the document revision. Secondary status are customized statuses, which can be defined based on the individual needs of the company.

File ID

The ID of the file attached to the document revision.

File Name

The name or description of the file.

File Version

The version of the attached file.

Redline Version

The redline version of the attached file. The redlining process a file implies that when a file is in submitted state, authorized person can add comments to the file.

Area

The area where the file is stored / located.

Combined

The various file operations are the following:

Edit File: If this check box is selected, the file is opened for editing if the user clicks Edit File on the Specific menu of the Document Revisions (dmdoc1520m000) session.

View File: If this check box is selected, the file is opened for read-only viewing if the user clicks View File on the Specific menu of the Document Revisions (dmdoc1520m000) session.

Print File: If this check box is selected, the contents of this file are printed if the user clicks Print File on the Specific menu of the Document Revisions (dmdoc1520m000) session.

Redline File: If this check box is selected, the file is opened for redlining (adding comments) if the user clicks Redline File on the Specific menu of the Document Revisions (dmdoc1520m000) session.

Copy File: If this check box is selected, the file is copied to any other document revision if the clicks Copy File on the Specific menu of the Document Revisions (dmdoc1520m000) session.
