Optimize Lot Sizing (cprao3200m000)

Use this session to optimize the logistic parameters of items.

This session optimizes the lot sizes and order intervals of items that use the specified resource. The computation takes the constraint availability of the resource into account.

Note: The lot size is equal to the economic order quantity.

In the Resource Cost Values (cprao3120m000) session you can define resource parameters that LN takes into account for the optimization of lot sizes) and order intervals of items produced at the involved resource.

The session prints an overview of the optimization results. The Plan Items - Optimized Lot Sizes (cprao3110m000) session displays the details per item.

Field Information

Scenario

The scenario in which LN optimizes the lot sizes and the order intervals for the specified resource.

Plan Level

The plan level for which LN optimizes the logistic parameters for the specified resource.

Work Center

The resource for which LN optimizes the order parameters.

If you leave this field empty, LN optimizes the parameters for all resources.

Note: If an item's production process involves more than one resource, the order parameters for this item are optimized for the resource with the highest priority.

Calculation Start Date

When this field is filled, the optimization run uses this date as the start date of the resource parameter.

When this field is not filled, then the optimization run uses the start date specified in the Start Date field in the Resource Cost Values (cprao3120m000) session.

Calculation Finish Date

When this field is filled, the optimization run uses this date as the finish date of the resource parameter.

When this field is not filled, the optimization run uses the finish date that you specified in the Finish Date field in the Resource Cost Values (cprao3120m000) session.

Delete Existing Optimized Lot Sizes

If this check box is selected, LN performs one of the following actions:

  • If a resource is specified in the Work Center field, LN deletes the existing optimized parameters that have been computed for this resource
  • If no resource is specified in the Work Center field, LN deletes all existing optimized parameters for the specified combination of scenario and plan level
