Aggregate Channel to Item Master Plan (cpdsp5210m000)
Use this session to aggregate information from channel master plans to their corresponding item master plans without using the aggregation relationships that you defined in the Aggregation Relationships (cprpd3110m000) session.
You can aggregate the following fields from the channel master plan (the source fields) to the item master plan:
- Demand Forecast
- Extra Demand
- Allowed Demand
LN calculates the total value of the source fields that you select over all channels of the specified plan items. Then, this total value is copied to one of the following fields in the item master plan (the target fields):
- Demand Forecast
- Extra Demand
- Production Plan
- Purchase Plan
After LN aggregates the channel data to the item master plan, it automatically updates the data.
How to use this session
Define the relationship between items and channels in the Plan Item - Channels (cpdsp5100m000) session.
Aggregation of data to the Demand Forecast field in the item master plan is only possible if the Automatic Update of Demand Forecast field in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session has one of the following values:
- (Dis)aggregate
- Always Update
Similar restrictions apply to the aggregation of production plan and purchase plan.
Percentages
You can modify the aggregated values by a certain percentage. For example, you can reduce the value by 50%, or raise it by 20%.
Overwrite or add
Usually, the aggregated value of the source field overwrites the value of the target field. Instead of overwriting, you can also add the quantity of the source field to the target field. Use the Update Mode field to do so.
Basic example
The following table shows an item's demand forecast for three channels:
Plan period | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Retailer channel | 5000 | 7100 | 5000 |
Mail-order channel | 200 | 300 | 250 |
Other | 1000 | 900 | 900 |
Total | 6200 | 8300 | 6150 |
You can aggregate the demand forecast fields of the channel master plans to the demand forecast fields of the item master plans. The result is shown in the following table:
Plan period | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Demand forecast | 6200 | 8300 | 6150 |
Example of aggregating multiple source fields
Use the following field values to copy the demand forecast and the extra demand of the channel master plans to the demand forecast of the item master plan:
From | To | Percentage | Update Mode |
---|---|---|---|
Demand Forecast | Demand Forecast | 100 | Overwrite |
Extra Demand | Demand Forecast | 100 | Add-To |

- From Plan Item
-
Specify the first of a range of plan items for which LN must aggregate the channel data to their corresponding item master plan.
- To Plan Item
-
Specify the last of a range of plan items for which LN must aggregate the channel data to their corresponding item master plan.
- Demand Forecast
-
If this check box is selected, LN aggregates the demand forecast from the channel master plans to the demand forecast or the extra demand in the item master plan of the corresponding plan item.
- Demand Forecast
-
The target field in the item master plan to which LN copies the channel master plan's demand forecast.
Only the values Demand Forecast and Extra Demand are available for aggregation of the demand forecast to the item master plan.
- Demand Forecast
-
The Demand Forecast field.
- Extra Demand
-
The Extra Demand field.
- Production Plan
-
The Production Plan field.
- Purchase Plan
-
The Purchase Plan field.
- Demand Forecast
-
The percentage of the aggregated demand forecast that is stored in the target field or added to the target field (depending on the update mode).
Example
- If you enter 110, and the update mode is Overwrite, 110% of the aggregated source fields is stored in the target field.
- If you enter 20, and the update mode is Add To, 20% of the source field is added to the target field.
- If you enter 0, and the update mode is Overwrite, the target field is set to zero.
Note: A value of 100% is appropriate in most cases. - Demand Forecast
-
If the update mode is Overwrite, the values of the target fields are overwritten by the source values.
If the update mode is Add To, the source values are added to the values present in the target values.
Note:The session processes the source fields in the following order:
- Demand forecast
- Extra demand
- Allowed demand
If you aggregate multiple source fields to a single target field, you must set the update mode of the first source field to Overwrite and the update mode of the other source fields to Add To.
- Extra Demand
-
If this check box is selected, LN aggregates the extra demand from the channel master plans to the extra demand or the demand forecast in the master plan of the corresponding item.
- Extra Demand
-
The target field in the item master plan to which LN copies the channel master plan's extra demand.
Only the values Demand Forecast and Extra Demand are available for aggregation of the extra demand to the item master plan.
- Demand Forecast

- Production Plan
-
The Production Plan field.
- Purchase Plan
-
The Purchase Plan field.
- Extra Demand
-
The percentage of the aggregated extra demand that is stored in the target field or added to the target field (depending on the update mode).
Example
- If you enter 110, and the update mode is Overwrite, 110% of the aggregated source fields is stored in the target field.
- If you enter 20, and the update mode is Add To, 20% of the source field is added to the target field.
