Find time taken for dumping and loading (bcgct1252s000)
Use this session to gather the start and end time of dumping and loading process for each table per conversion run.
The dumping and loading process per conversion is carried out on the copy of the original data.
After carrying out the process on the copy of the original data, the downtime (due to data migration from the source environment to the target environment) of the target environment can be predicted by analyzing the start and end time.
Based on the time taken for dumping and loading the copy of the original data, down-time of the target environment in the final migration process on the original data can be estimated.
Preparation
Before you can use this session, first two stages of Migration process (dumping and loading) should be done on the copy of the original data during trial phase.
Execution
- If the Migration process is carried out in a scenario where the source environment server is not connected to the target environment server using Client-Server technology or is not located on the same physical machine, then dumping.time file should be copied to target environment server, in the $BSE/tmp/migration/companynumber directory of the user, who is carrying out the Migration process for the Unix environment. For Windows NT environment, the dumping.time file should be copied to the $BSE\Tmp folder.
- File dumping.time can be located in the source environment server after the dumping phase is over. The dumping.time file is present in the $BSE/tmp/migration/companynumber directory of the user, who is carrying out the Migration process for Unix environment. For Windows NT environment, the file can be located in the $BSE\Temp folder.
Process logic
This session gathers the dumping related data from the source environment and loads the related data from the target environment, and finally stores it in one of the tables of target environment.
Duration
Warning: Execution of this session takes a long time.
This process takes some time to gather the dumping related data from the source environment and to load the related data from the target environment. Once the process is over, it displays the message box confirming the process completion.
