Documents (pdpdm2500m000)

Use this session to view and maintain PLM documents that can be associated with a project.

Documents are revision-controlled objects that contain data for designs, marketing or other business purposes. For example, drawings, specifications, and financial reports.

Note: 
  • You can use the Add Files option to access the Files (pdpdm5100m000) session.
  • You can use the Download option to download a document.

    If multiple files are attached to the document, the files are displayed on the Files (pdpdm2502m200) session.

  • You can use the View option to view a document.

    If multiple files are attached to the document, the files are displayed on the Files (pdpdm2502m200) session.

  • You can use filters in the Views menu to filter the documents based on the status of the document. Whenever you apply one of the filter options, the same filter is applicable when you access the session next time.

      Click this option to view all PLM documents.

    • Latest Created

      Click this option to view the latest revisions of the object.

    • Latest Released

      Click this option to view revisions:

      • With the status set to Released or Under Change.
      • Effective from the current date and time.
        Note: The object must not be Obsolete.
    • Work in Progress

      Click this option to view the undefined revisions of the object.

    • Current Released

      Click this option to view revisions of the object:

      • With the status set to Released or Under Change.
      • The Effective From date is less than or equal to the current date and time.
      • The Effective To date is greater than current date/time.
        Note: The object must not be Obsolete.

Document

The code of the document.

Revision

The revision number of the document.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Document Type

The document type used for the project.

Status

The status of the document.

Released
Under Change
Life Cycle

The stage at which the document is, in the production life cycle. This is used to track the document through the various phases (from design to production).

PLM Project

The PLM project for which the document is created.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Security Access Level

The level of security access provided to the user.

Created By

The login ID of the user who creates the document.

Name

The name of the user who creates the document.

Created On

The date on which the document is created.

Effective From

The date from which the effectivity of the document is applicable.

Effective To

The date up to which the document is effective. The application sets the date when a new revision of the document is released.

Approval Date

The date on which the document is released.

Previous Revision

The alpha numeric code of the revision of the document.

Derived From

The original document from which this document is copied.

Category

The category code to which the document has been classified.

Category Name

The category name to which the document has been classified.

Originating App

The application using which the document is created.

Business Process

The code of the business process for which the document is created.

Application Format Type

The CAD integration file format type.

Cage Code

The unique Commercial and Government Entity Code, or CAGE Code, assigned to suppliers associated with various government or defense agencies.

Customer Doc No

The ID of the customer document.

Customer Doc Revision

The revision number of the customer document.

Life Cycle

The name used to track the document through various stages; from design to production.

MPN

The Manufacturer Part Number. The unique number to identify individual products.

BOM Defining

If this check box is selected, the Bill of Material is defined for the item linked to the document.

Object Type

The category used to classify the object.

Is Latest

Indicates if the revision of the document is the latest.

Locked By

The name of the user who has locked the document.

Obsolete

Indicates that the document is no longer in use.
