Data Migration : Pre/ Post migration functions (pdadm8161m000)

Use this session to perform additional pre and post migration operations.

Major part of Data Migration is handled using the DCA Engine and its corresponding loader. There are additional operations which user needs to perform in the target application. These operations are grouped into three categories:

  • Meta-Data
  • Pre-Load
  • Post-Load

Meta-Data

Used to export meta-data information into xml files, which is required by DCA Utility for PLM. These actions are available under this category:

  • Export Tables and Domains Definitions.
  • Export Descriptive Names Information.

Pre-Load

These actions must performed before loading the data to target. These actions are available under this category:

  • Delete Standard Vaults/Areas (pdadm110-112)
  • Delete Standard Vaults/Areas (pdadm110-112)
  • Delete Standard Category Data (pdadm500)
  • Delete All Users Preferences (pdadm002, pdcad001-011)
  • Delete Projects (pdadm300-301)

Post-Load

These actions must be performed after loading the data to target. These actions are available under this category:
  • Update Permissions for Preferences (pdadm001)
  • Update Preferred Masks Information (pdadm601)
  • Import Roles and Role Actions (pdadm400-401)
  • Import Text Data
  • Import Thumbnail Images (pdpdm502)
