Planned inventory transactions

Any requirements for inventory issues, receipts, transfers, or item transfers originated by other packages, result in planned inventory transactions in the Inventory Planning module.

Planned inventory transactions that result in actual inventory transactions cause a warehousing order to be generated in the Warehouse Orders module. This warehousing order follows a predefined procedure that is directed by workflow and depends on the order type and origin.

Planned inventory transactions are used to do the following:

  • Calculate the economic stock.
  • Statistical inventory control.
  • Time-phased order point.
  • Generate MPS (Master Planning Schedule) orders.
  • Generate MRP (Material Requirements Planning) orders.
  • Generate PRP (Project Requirements Planning) orders.
  • Generate DRP (Distribution Requirements Planning) orders.

All planned inventory transactions can be displayed or printed on paper.

To produce a graphic display of inventory levels for a single item, use the Planned Inventory Transactions - Chart (whinp1700m000) session.

Use the Rebuild Planned Inventory Transactions (whinp1200m000) session to rebuild the database of planned inventory transactions, for instance, in case of system failures, database corruptions, and other emergencies.
