Costing Breaks (tppdm3600m000)

Use this session to create costing breaks for a project.

You can use costing breaks to move the unit costs from the top demand project pegs to other project WBS levels. You can identify other specific cost types such as labor, material, subcontracting, and so on to redirect the unit costs to the other WBS levels.

You can register the costing breaks for:

  • Manufacturing- for the Bill of Material (BOM) components of the item.
  • Service- for the As-built structure of the service item.

LN also allows you to manually copy the costing breaks from one project to another.

The costing break lines on the tabs refer to the following sessions:

  • Costing Breaks - Production Material (tppdm3101m000)
  • Costing Breaks - Production Resources (tppdm3102m000)
  • Costing Breaks - Service Material (tppdm3103m000)
  • Costing Breaks - Service Labor (tppdm3104m000)
  • Costing Breaks - Service Other Cost (tppdm3105m000)
  • Costing Breaks - Service Activities (tppdm3106m000)
Note:

LN allows you to create costing breaks for projects only if the Costing Breaks checkbox in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session is selected.

You can also create costing breaks for blank projects with the project code not specified in the Project field. You must specify a standard element or a standard activity to create costing breaks for a blank project.

The standard activities used to create costing breaks must be of the type Control Account or Work Package.

Costing breaks cannot be created for the projects of the type Internal Project and Template.
