Copy Actual Costs to Estimates (tpest1205m200)

Use this session to copy the actual costs of an existing project to estimate lines of a new project. This provides an easy overview of an estimate based on the similarities between the existing project and the new project for which an estimate is required.

Note: This can only be done for the bottom-up estimates.

Activity

The project is used to monitor the cost of activities. This option is applicable only if a bottom up activity budget is linked to the source project.

Note: By default, the element budget is used, if both the element and activity budget are defined for the project. If the element or activity is not defined for the source project, an error message is displayed.

Unit Costs and Rates to use
Unit Costs and Rates to use

The type of prices and cost rates that must be used for the estimate.

Note:
  • The actual cost lines are aggregated by:
  • If the unit of the cost object quantity in the source project varies, Infor LN aggregates and converts this unit, for the target project, based on the master data unit of the cost object. Effectively, cost and sales prices are calculated and determined based on the resulting unit and the Pricing options specified in this session.

Allowed values

Current

The current price and cost rates derived from the price books or the price specified for the cost objects.

Average

The average price and cost rates calculated based on the actual costs.

Note: As the actual cost can fluctuate over the period of time, the average price or rate for each cost object is calculated.
Latest

The latest price and cost rates from the actual costs.

Note: As the actual cost can fluctuate over the period of time, the latest actual price or rate for each cost object is calculated.
Options
Delete Structure Data

If this check box is selected, the application deletes the structural element data of the estimate line.

Create Structural Elements

If this check box is selected, structural elements are created for the target estimate structure. To create structural elements, an element structure, activity structure or both, must be defined in the source.

Note:
  • This option is used only if the structural elements are not defined for the target project.
  • The structural elements can be created only if the activity or element structure types are similar.
  • Structural Elements of the type Cost Component and Extension are created for the estimate line, if defined, for the target estimate version.
Create Project-related Cost Objects

If this check box is selected, the application generates project related cost objects for the new project.
