Viewing Workload Analysis

To optimize the balance of the assembly line, you can analyze the capacity and the actual use of the line. This way you can detect bottlenecks, where the line capacity is exceeded, or unused capacity. The results of the analysis are displayed in a chart.

The workload is the amount of man and/or machine hours that is spent on a certain work place. This work place can be a line station, line segment, main work center, or the assembly line.

The available capacity is the amount of man and/or machine hours available on a certain work place.

The workload can be analyzed on different levels of precision. This is important because a more detailed analysis can show bottlenecks that were not visible on a global level.

Parameters and settings

The capacity of the line is determined by the following parameters and settings:

  • The calendar. The calendar is defined in the Calendars and Periods module in Common.
  • The non-average line station level assignments. These assignments are defined in the Assembly Line - Assignments (tiasc5510m000) and Assembly Line - Assignments and Line Stations (tiasc5520m000) sessions. The non-average assignments define the number of resources, that is, man and machines that are available for a line station.

Because assembly order planning takes the line capacity into account, these parameters are also important for the actual workload, although the actual workload can exceed the capacity.
