Viewing Assembly Part Supply Transfer (SILS)

The transfer of assembly parts from a main warehouse or supplier to a job shop warehouse is controlled by assembly part supply transfer messages. These messages are created and updated with the Replenish Shop Floor Warehouse (tiasc8210m000) session and/or the Generate Time Horizon-driven SILS Supply Messages (tiasc8212m000) session. To be processed, the messages must be transferred to Warehousing or Purchase Control by means of the Transfer Assembly Part Supply Messages (tiasc8220m000) session. The messages can be viewed in the current session, for the SILS supply system, and in the Line Station - Assembly Part Supply Transfer (Batch) (tiasc8510m000) session, for the Batch supply system.

If you use the SILS supply system, the assembly parts are supplied as part of an assembly kit.

The way the supply messages are transferred and processed is determined by the Supply from Warehouse check box in the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2110s000) session:

  • The check box is selected for internal supply. LN generates warehouse transfers from the source warehouse to the shop-floor warehouse.
  • The check box is cleared for external supply. The Purchase Control module uses this information to generate a sequenced shipping schedule to control supply from the supplier to the job shop warehouse.

The messages for external suppliers are interpreted by the Purchase Control module, which sends the message information by purchase schedules. To send orders to suppliers you can use the Electronic Data Interchange module.

Note:  WIP transfers are only created between different assembly lines.
