Generating WIP Transfer

The procedures for the WIP transfer are as follows:

  • For a WIP transfer between assembly lines in the same logistical companies, a transfer warehousing order is created to make a logistic link between the two assembly lines, which is necessary to handle the transfer of the goods. Dependent on your parameter setting for the WIP Transfer Handling field in Line Assembly Control (LAC), you may need to run the Execute WIP Issue (tiasc7201m000) session and the Execute WIP Receipt (tiasc7202m000) session after you have run the current session.
  • If the transfer is between line stations in different logistical companies, this session triggers the generation of an intercompany purchase order. The intercompany sales order is generated using electronic data interchange (EDI).

Run the Assembly Messages (tiasc0501m000) session to check whether LN generated any error messages.

You can run the current session by a trigger (such as completing a line-station order on another line station) using process-triggered workflow. You define the triggers in the Process Trigger Definition (tiasl8100m000) session. Refer to the following topic for a detailed explanation of the parameters and processes involved in triggering the WIP transfer: WIP transfers in the Assembly Control (ASC) module.
