Conversion of Applications (tgbrg5150m000)

Use this session to define the conversion of applications between a source component and a destination component.

The purpose of setting up a source and destination component is to be able to automatically convert the used source applications to its related destination application.

The conversion takes place in:

If in one of the above components a source application is linked this source application (included in the source component release) can be converted to a destination application (included in the destination component release).

When source applications are converted to destination applications, the destination applications determine how the source applications are replaced. There are four different types of replacement.

  • Complete replacement

The functionality of the destination application includes the functionality of the source application. Complete replacement can only be applied in case of multiple replacement or single replacement.

In this session you can indicate that the functionality of a source application and destination application is the same by selecting the Complete replaced sessions check box.

  • Multiple replacement

For each source application multiple destination applications exist. The source application is replaced by the destination application with the lowest sequence number.

  • Single replacement

For each source application, exactly one destination application exists. The source application is replaced by the destination application. Note that there can be functionality differences between the source destination and destination application. However, this is not true when the Complete replaced sessions check box is selected; this check box indicates that the applications contain the same functionality.

  • No replacement

No destination application is defined for the source application as a result no conversion takes place.

Use the Conversion of Applications (tgbrg5150m000) session to actually perform a conversion based on the information defined in this session.

Field Information

Source Component

The source component.

Source Component Release

The source component release.

Destination Component

The destination component.

Destination Component Release

The destination component release.

Source Application

The application identification in the source component and component release.

Destination Sequence Number

If for one source application multiple destination applications exist you can specify this by a sequence number.

The source application is replaced by the destination application with the lowest sequence number.

Example

Source application: session A

Sequence Number Destination application
1 Session A1
2 Session A2
3 Session A3
Destination Application

The application identification in the destination component and component release.

Destination Authorization

Here you can define a new authorization for where the destination application is used. This can either be an acitivity or support application.

Complete replaced sessions

If this check box is selected, the functionality of the destination application includes the functionality of the source application. complete replacement can only be applied in case of multiple replacement or single replacement.
