Restate Asset Depreciation (tffam1206m000)

Use this session to recalculate asset depreciation that occurred in a prior period for all of an asset's related books. For example, if you import an asset into LN but you did not import its transactions, you can want to restate depreciation for the entire asset for the last year. Also, if you calculated depreciation up to a specified date, but you want to undo the depreciation, you can restate depreciation to an earlier date.

When you restate, LN reverses any depreciation transactions found between the periods you specify. Then, LN recalculates depreciation for the selected periods. If you do not enter a start period, LN restates all depreciation from the asset's in-service date up to the specified end date.

LN creates new journals from the restatements that affect the default book in the General Ledger module. The next time you create journals, LN sends these journals to the General Ledger module.

Depreciation transactions are posted to any period, including future periods, unless a calendar for that period does not exist.
