Add Book to Assets (tffam0210m000)

Use this session to create asset book relationships. You specify a template book from which values will be drawn. The template book should always be a required book. In order to populate a new book's values, a template book must be selected from which you can draw values.

If the template book assigned to a default book is of the same book type as the default book, LN performs certain tasks when it adds the books to the assets. It copies the status of the template book to the new book and copies cost and other values from the template book to the new book. LN also creates one transaction for each necessary transaction type. For example, if the template book has depreciated, the depreciation value is copied to the new book for all assets created for the company and one depreciation transaction is created in the current period for the new book.

Note: If the status of the asset is Disposed, or the asset has been removed, the book is not added to the asset.

You access this session by selecting Default Books in the FAM Parameters (tffam0100s000) session and changing a non-required book to required. You also access this session when you create new books.
