Specifying a local alternative item

A local alternative item is defined as an acceptable substitute at the production stage for a specified item in the product structure.

A local alternative item can replace the original item only in a specific assembly.

  1. Select PLM Data Management > Item Management > PLM Items. The PLM Items (pdpdm1500m000) session is displayed.
  2. Click the required item to start the PLM Item (pdpdm1600m000) session.
  3. Select the required BOM.
  4. Click Local Alternative Items from the Actions menu. The Local Alternative Items (pdpdm1114m000)session is displayed.
  5. Select the key for the item which is the local substitute, in the Alternate Item Key field.
  6. Click Save.
