Areas

You must create the areas in the PLM System. An area represents a path and directory on a computer in which files can be stored.

Each area referred to within PLM must be defined and linked to a vault. The administrator is responsible for defining and linking these area types:

• Work area: The area type is used to store objects with the Undefined and Under Change status.
• Release area: The area type is used to store objects with the Released status.
• Archive area: The area type is used to store archived files. One area of this type is predefined for the main vault.
