Creating a purchase order

To create a purchase order, execute these steps:

  1. Access the Purchase Order Intake Workbench (tdpur4601m200) session and click New. The Purchase Order (tdpur4100m900) session is displayed.
  2. Select the buy-from business partner (supplier) in the Business Partner field of the Buy-from section and press Tab.
    Note: Infor LN populates the data related to the selected business partner
  3. Select the order type of furnished materials in the Order Type field, purchase office in the Purchase Office field, and the order series in the Order field.
  4. Click New on the Order Lines tab and select the purchased item (third party not owned warehouse) in the second segment of the Item field.
  5. Specify the quantity of the item in the Ordered Quantity field.
  6. Click Go to Details related to the order line on the Order Lines tab. The Purchase Order Lines (tdpur4101m000) session is displayed.
  7. Verify that No Payment is selected in the Payment field and the business partner of the order is selected in the Owner field in the Payment section on the Invoicing tab.
  8. Review the value in the Customs Value field of the Shipping section in the Shipping tab.
    Note: The Customs Value is used as the actual value for generating the integration transactions in the Integration Transactions (tfld4582m000) session. If the price specified in the fiscal receipt differs from the forecasted value specified in the purchase order, after invoice is approved, this Custom Value field is updated in purchase order and consequently in the integration transactions.
  9. Click Approve to approve the purchase order and execute the order line activities. The Print Purchase Order report is generated.
  10. Verify that the order line is selected on the Order Lines tab and click References > Status. The Purchase Order Line Status (tdpur4534m000) session is displayed.
  11. Review the activities of the purchase order line and verify that the Print Purchase Orders activity is automatically executed.
  12. Click Execute to perform the Release the Purchase Orders to Warehousing activity.
  13. Click Execute to perform the Awaiting Receipts - Warehouse activity. The Inbound Line Status Overview (whinh2119m000) session is displayed.
  14. Select Actions > Receive. The Warehouse Receipt (whinh3512m000) session is displayed.
